Egypt vs Benin Prediction: Expect dominance from Pharaohs

Group B winners Egypt take on Benin at Adrar Stadium on Monday afternoon (16:00 GMT, live on 4seven) for a place in the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals.
The Pharaohs collected seven points in the group stage, while Benin have only ever reached the knockout stages once before, doing so in the 2021 edition of the tournament. Read on for my Egypt vs Benin predictions, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Mohamed Salah will be drafted back into the starting XI, alongside Omar Marmoush and Trezeguet, after all three were rested in the final group game against Angola.
Mohamed Hany is available for selection again after a one-match suspension, following a red card against South Africa, while Mohamed El Shenawy should retain his place between the sticks.
As for Benin, Sessi D'Almeida is an injury doubt, while Abdoul Rachid Moumini is suspended after an accumulation of yellow cards.
Egypt vs Benin Predicted Lineups
- Egypt: El Shenawy; Hany, Ibrahim, Rabia, Hamdi; Ateya, Zizo, Fathi; Salah, Marmoush, Trezeguet
- Benin: Dandjinou; Ouorou, Verdon, Tijani, Roche; Imourane, Samadou; Tosin, Dodo, Olaitan; Mounie
Unsurprisingly, Egypt are heavy favourites for Monday's contest at 2/5, giving them an implied win probability of 71.4%, with the draw 16/5 and a Benin win is priced up at 17/2 - all 90-minute betting of course.
Both teams to score is available at 13/8, and over 2.5 goals can be backed at 5/4.
Egypt vs Benin Stats
- Egypt have conceded just one goal at Afcon
- Benin have failed to score in four of their last five games
Egypt to win to nil @ 5/6
Egypt haven't been at their best so far at Afcon, but they shouldn't have any issues in booking their place in the quarter-finals.
Benin's only win in Group D came against Botswana, and they were thoroughly outclassed by Senegal in their final group game 3-0. In addition, Benin only scored one goal across their three group matches, and the Egyptians only conceded one goals themselves across their three fixtures.
Benin booked their place in the round of 16 through being one of the best third-placed teams, so it's hard to see the minnows springing a shock here. Egypt are heavy favourites - and for good reason.

Price Boost - Egypt to win both halves, Mohamed Salah to score & Omar Marmoush to score or assist (was 6/1) @ 7/1
For further value, I really like the look of this price boost from our traders.
As mentioned above, I'm expecting a dominant Egypt performance given that they're unbeaten in the four previous meetings between the two nations, winning three of those encounters, with all coming with multi-goal margins.
Salah and Marmoush were both rested in Egypt's final group game against Angola, so they should be raring to go here. Salah has netted eight times in his last 10 international appearances and always looks a sensible pick to score anytime, while Marmoush scored in the matchday one victory over Zimbabwe.
