A spot in the last 16 of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations is up for grabs on Monday when Comoros meet Mali in Casablanca (20:00 local, 19:00 GMT, live on Channel 4 Sport YouTube).

Mali have drawn both of their fixtures so far to sit in second place behind hosts Morocco, while Comoros are only one point behind their opponents despite being bottom of the group. Below are my Comoros vs Mali predictions, along with the latest team news and Betfred’s match odds.

Stefano Cusin could make a number of changes to his Comoros team again, having seen his four alterations against Zambia result in them picking up their first point.

The head coach switched to a back three following their opening loss to Morocco, and that may well be the shape he employs once more against Mali.

Yannis Kari could miss out again, while there could be a decision to be made up front between Myziane Maolida and Faiz Selemani.

Mali boss Tom Saintfiet needs to decision whether to rotate heavily again or stick with the side which battled to a 1-1 draw with the hosts on Friday.

Lassine Sinayoko was pushed up as their most advanced player in Rabat, and he could again be supported by Yves Bissouma.

Nene Dorgeles may well come back into the starting lineup for Mamadou Doumbia on the left of the attacking midfield line.

While Comoros have failed to score – or even offer much of a threat – in their two games top date, Mali flattered to deceive in their 1-1 draw with Zambia.

It also took a second-half penalty for them to earn a point against Morocco, against whom they really struggled to threaten.

So if Mali are to get over the top in this one, it might not be by much, and if I believed the Coelacanths to have any sort of potency in front of goal I’d be looking at the 3/1 about a draw.

Instead, the Eagles should be able to do just about enough. And the one-goal victory margin at 11/5 appears to carry plenty of value.

As one of the brighter sparks against Zambia, it was a slight surprise to see Nene Dorgeles dropped to the bench for the draw with hosts Morocco.

But after opting for a more structured lineup against the group favourites, I think Saintfiet will look for a more positive selection in this game and as a result Dorgeles can expect to start once more.

While Lassine Sinayoko might be the choice for some having scored in successive games, Dorgeles is a really dynamic presence and offers greater value at 21/10 for the anytime goal at an implied probability of 32.3%.
