Angola vs Zimbabwe Prediction: Pick up 7/2 bet on a bounceback win

At least one Group B side will break their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations duck on Friday when Angola meet Zimbabwe in Marrakesh (13:30 local, 12:30 GMT, live on 4seven).
Both teams lost narrowly to higher-ranked nations in their opener, so it’s make or break in this Boxing Day bout. Read on for my Angola vs Zimbabwe predictions, along with the latest team news and Betfred’s match odds.

Team News
Angola boss Patrice Beaumelle should go with largely the same side which pushed South Africa all the way in Monday’s 2-1 loss.
Beaumelle removed all five of his forward players late on in the opener, but each was for tactical reasons so the likes of Gelson Dala, Mbala Nzola and Zito Luvumbo should all be considered for the start once more.
Zimbabwe led Egypt for almost 45 minutes in Agadir, and coach Mario Marinica has decisions to make off the back of that.
Washington Navaya was replaced at the break in the 2-1 defeat and the Zimbabwe press intensity decreased after his departure, so Macaulay Bonne may have to wait a little longer for a start.
Tawanda Maswanhise may also be considered after coming on late on for Emmanuel Jalai.
Angola vs Zimbabwe Predicted Lineups
- Angola: Marques; Mata, Gaspar, Buatu, Carneiro; Show; Luvumbo, Maestro, Fredy, Dala; Nzola
- Zimbabwe: Arubi; Murwira, Garan’anga, Takwara, Hadebe; Nakamba; Jalai, Dube, Fabisch, Msendami; Navaya
It’s Angola who are tipped to win the game, with the Red Devils 8/11 for the victory with Betfred.
Zimbabwe are 9/2, with the draw 12/5.
It’s 6/5 for Both Teams to Score, and 8/13 if you fancy the opposite to be the case.
Angola vs Zimbabwe Stats
- Angola had more touches in the opposition box than South Africa did on matchday one (23-14) and led on xG (1.19-1.18)
- Zimbabwe enjoyed only 22.5% of possession in the loss to Egypt and created an xG of 0.87 to the Pharoahs’ 3.65
- Angola keeper Hugo Marques made 2 saves on MD1 compared to 9 by Zim’s Wahington Arubi against Egypt
Angola & Both Teams to Score @ 7/2
Having pushed South Africa so close, the expectation from Angola will be to beat Zimbabwe next up.
They certainly had their fair share of the game against Bafana Bafana and have plenty of weapons to trouble the Warriors.
Zim were very much holding on throughout the second half against Egypt, but they simply have to open up for this one if they are to have a chance to compete.
Conversely, in doing so, they could leave themselves open to danger.
I can see Zimbabwe scoring but the Red Devils ought to be clinical enough to come out of it with the three points. The 7/2 offered by Betfred makes this a 22.2% implied probability.

Gelson Dala Anytime Goalscorer @ 8/5
The Angola goal was certainly coming against South Africa, with Show’s strike having been preceded by a great chance for Gelson Dala.
Dala’s physique makes him a huge threat, and Zimbabwe will find him difficult to handle.
I have him as a good shout to score at some point, and the 8/5 price offers great value.
