The third round of Cricket World Cup group fixtures concludes on Tuesday morning (09:30), when unbeaten South Africa take on winless Netherlands in beautiful Dharamshala. We’ve previewed this one and given you our betting predictions for the occasion.
South Africa vs Netherlands Betting Tips
You could be forgiven for thinking South Africa (1/20) may be tempted to overlook their opponents the Netherlands (10/1) here, given the disparity in league position, results and talent.
However, Afghanistan showed on Sunday just how dangerous a mindset that could be, as they toppled the reigning champions England, to give themselves a sniff of qualification.
Combine that with the fact that these two have history, with the Netherlands sensationally beating South Africa, knocking them out of the competition in the process, back in the T20 World Cup, in 2022.
Temba Bavuma’s men will be desperate to make amends for that early exit and maintain their excellent form in this longer-format event, which has seen them win each of their opening games by 100+ runs.
For Scott Edwards & Co, this is another chance to show they belong at this level, with the cricketing minnows struggling in their early games.

After a perfect start to their World Cup campaign, the Proteas are unlikely to make any major changes here. The only question will be whether to play another pace bowler in Gerald Coetzee or stick with the second spin option of Tabraiz Shamsi.

Quinton de Kock top SA run scorer – 9/4
The 30-year-old came in for a fair amount of criticism when he announced his retirement from Test cricket at the age of 28 and he has already indicated he will do the same at ODI level after this World Cup, to concentrate on T20 franchise cricket.
Well, if these are his last 50-over games for his country, he’s certainly going about them in the right way, hitting back-to-back centuries against Sri Lanka and Australia.
The left-hander looks in imperious form and is equally destructive against both pace and spin, scoring at more than a run a ball.
Bas de Leede top NED run scorer – 9/2
De Leede often looks like one of the few Dutch players who could go on to be a real world-class player.
The son of former Netherlands international, Tim de Leede, Bas is equally adept with both bat and ball and was a huge reason for their qualification for this tournament.
The 23-year-old picked up a five-for against Scotland then hit a magnificent hundred in the same game. He almost repeated the feat against Pakistan in the opening game, taking four wickets and scored a lovely looking 67.
