Oval Invincibles

Invincibles suffered just their second defeat of the campaign at Headingley at Saturday, falling 16 runs short against Northern Superchargers.

Chasing a daunting target of 198, Oval got off to a flyer thanks to a rapid 38-run opening partnership but, despite decent contributions from Sam Curran and Jordan Cox and a brutal 41 off 15 balls late in the day from Donovan Ferreira, they were never realistically in the hunt.

It was a chastening afternoon for the bowlers, with Superchargers smashing 14 sixes in their innings. Tom Curran was hit for half of these and went for 50 runs off his 20 balls.

London Spirit

London Spirit finally put a dominant performance together, with a thumping 47-run win over Southern Brave at Lord's that gives them an outside hope of reaching the playoffs.

Kane Williamson led from the front with an excellent 53 off 28, ably supported by Jamie Smith, who smashed 44 off just 18 balls. The batting unit's aggressive intent, combined with David Warner's anchoring role (25 off 20), propelled Spirit to a formidable 186/4.

Richard Gleeson and Liam Dawson starred with the ball, picking up three wickets apiece as Brave were skittled for 139.

Pitch & conditions

The Oval has served up excellent surfaces in this year's Hundred, with plenty of bounce and carry for the seamers. The average first innings score is 175, boosted by the record 226 the Invincibles put on the board against Welsh Fire. It will be a dry, mild evening in south London, with temperatures in the mid 20s.

Key odds

Invincibles have been dominant at home and they are 4/6 to finish the group phase with another victory, with Spirit at 6/5. An Oval win is the most likely result but those odds are short enough.

Will Jacks is the favourite to top score for Invincibles at 5/2, with the in-form Jordan Cox a 3/1 shot. Donovan Ferreira top scored against the Superchargers, and he's 7/1 to repeat here.

Warner (14/5), Williamson and Smith (both 3/1) head the market for Spirit, with Ollie Pope a potentially interesting shout at 6/1 on a pitch he's very familiar with.

Best Bets

We've had a lot of joy backing the Invincibles in the Highest Opening Partnership market across the tournament and, with Jacks and Muyeye chalked up at 10/11 to outscore Warner and Smith, we will go in again.

Jordan Cox has scored 280 runs at an average of 70 in the tournament and we'll back him to beat his runs line of 22.5 as our second selection.
