We’re into the real meat and gravy of the Hundred men’s competition with every team still possibly in with a chance of qualification. On Friday night we’ve got the London Spirit taking on the Northern Superchargers at the home of cricket, Lord’s. We’ve previewed the match and given you our two best bets.

London Spirit vs Northern Superchargers Tips

  • Dan Lawrence top Spirit run scorer – 10/3
  • Reece Topley top Superchargers wicket taker – 10/3

It’s squeaky bum time in the Hundred, with only Oval Invincibles looking really secure for the eliminator stage. Behind them there are chances for all the other seven clubs and the outcome on Friday night will go a long way towards deciding who makes it into the final three.

The Northern Superchargers (5/6) started like a house on fire, winning their first two completed games but back-to-back losses have got them looking over their shoulders and they will need to get a win here to maintain any momentum.

Meanwhile, the London Spirit (10/11) have had two washouts, two losses and a win, to sit just a point behind their opponents.

They can count themselves pretty unfortunate to have lost against the Oval Invincibles on Tuesday evening, however, falling just two runs short after a magnificent piece of fielding from Ross Whiteley saved a vital four runs.

Now they simply have to win at home on Friday night or their campaign will be done.

Team news:

Once again, Ashes heroes Mark Wood and Ben Stokes will not be available. Daniel Bell-Drummond has been released back to Kent to play in the Royal London Cup.

London Spirit: Zak Crawley, Adam Rossington, Michael Pepper, Dan Lawrence, Matthew Wade, Daryl Mitchell, Matt Critchley, Liam Dawson, Chris Wood, Nathan Ellis, Dan Worrall

Northern Superchargers: Tom Banton, Matt Short, Harry Brook, Adam Hose, Saif Zaib, David Wiese, Brydon Carse, Wayne Parnell, Adil Rashid, Callum Parkinson, Reece Topley

Dan Lawrence top Spirit run scorer – 10/3

The England man is the Spirit’s top run scorer for the Hundred, despite playing just three innings.

With 141 runs off just 77 balls at an average of 47, he’s showing just precisely why Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler are so keen to have him in the Three Lions set up.

Reece Topley top Superchargers wicket taker – 10/3

Another man on the fringes of the England set up is left handed seamer Reece Topley.

Left handers have been at a premium this season, with many up near the top of the wicket tasking charts and Topley is only behind Tymal Mills at the summit.

The 29-year-old is in the recently announced England ODI squad for New Zealand and can press his claims for a starting spot again here on the biggest stage.
