LSG vs PBKS Prediction: Hosts set to end Punjab play-off dream

Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings meet at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Saturday for their final league-stage fixture of the IPL campaign (starts 3pm). Lucknow's bid for a play-off place never really got going this season but Punjab are still in with a chance of making the top four.
However, Shreyas Iyer's men arrive in Lucknow after six straight defeats, having won their first six matches of the season, so they need a victory to keep alive their play-off dream. Read on for my LSG vs PBKS predictions.

Despite losing their last six IPL matches, Punjab Kings are 8/13 to beat 5/4 hosts Lucknow Super Giants on Saturday.
Opener Prabhsimran Singh, who has been named player of the match in two of his last three appearances against Lucknow, is 3/1 to be Punjab Kings top batter.
Captain Shreyas Iyer is 14/5 favourite and Priyansh Arya, who blazed 93 off 37 balls in April's home win over LSG, is a 10/3 shot.
Team News
Lucknow Super Giants could recall experienced fast bowler Mohammed Shami, who missed Tuesday's defeat to Rajasthan Royals.
Ayush Badoni should deputise for Aiden Markram, who has returned home to South Africa for personal reasons.
Punjab Kings spinner Harpreet Brar is likely to keep his place after taking two wickets in last weekend's defeat to Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Lucknow Super Giants to Win @ 5/4
Punjab Kings lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in last year's IPL final and they looked like serious trophy contenders again in the first half of this season.
The Kings won their first six completed fixtures, including a 54-run home victory over Lucknow Super Giants, but they have lost all six of their subsequent games.
Punjab's fast bowlers seem to have lost their radar and they suffered chastening defeats to Delhi, Mumbai and RCB in their last three matches in Dharamsala, their second home ground.
Lucknow cannot make the play-offs after a dismal start to the season but they have shown some fight and quality in recent fixtures.
They beat RCB and Chennai Super Kings in their last two home matches and look a big price to complete the hat-trick in front of their own fans against under-pressure Punjab.

Mitchell Marsh - Top Team Home Batter @ 5/2
Mitchell Marsh's late-season form has been a key factor in Lucknow's mini-resurgence and the opener should lead their charge again on Saturday.
Marsh is relishing his partnership with fellow Western Australian big hitter Josh Inglis and he has reached 40 in seven of his last nine IPL innings.
He struck 111 and 90 in his last two games in Lucknow and made 96 against Rajasthan on Tuesday, when he was run out off the penultimate ball of the innings.
Marsh was the leading overseas batter in the 2025 IPL and he is vying with Sunrisers Hyderabad's Heinrich Klaasen for that accolade this season, having racked up 563 runs in 13 innings.
