GT vs MI Prediction: Mumbai’s woes may continue

Mumbai Indians have been the most successful team in IPL history, but their star-studded lineup has seriously failed to fire this season. They have currently won one of their five games and are already on the brink of being out of playoff contention unless they turn things around quickly.

Despite their recent struggles, Mumbai Indians are 4/5 to win this one while Gujarat Titans are even money. Shubman Gill is 11/5 favourite to top score for Gujarat Titans, while Suryakumar Yadav is 11/4 favourite to be Mumbai Indians’ top batter.

Tom Banton will miss the rest of the IPL through injury for Gujarat Titans, with South African Connor Esterhuizen his replacement.

For Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma faces a race against time to be fit. If he is, he will likely replace Ryan Rickelton, opening up the possibility of Trent Boult coming back into the lineup. Suryakumar Yadav was subbed for spinner Allah Ghazanfar last time out after making a duck.

Gujarat Titans @ 1/1 

Mumbai Indians’ struggles are perhaps best exemplified by the fact that their star bowler Jasprit Bumrah is currently wicketless after five games of this IPL season.

His side have struggled badly with the ball and couldn’t make the most of Quinton de Kock’s unbeaten 112 against Punjab Kings last time out, with their opponents chasing their total of 196 with 21 balls and seven wickets to spare.

MI can’t seem to get anything going and they look up against it once more as they take on Gujarat Titans, who have won three games in a row and are worth backing to secure a fourth success.

The visitors seem to be priced up on their big names, but with those players failing to make an impact, it’s worth taking Gujarat to extend their strong recent record against these opponents.

GT have won four of the last five head-to-heads and are a good bet to extend that run.

Sai Sudharsan top Gujarat Titans batter @ 9/4

Sai Sudharsan has failed to reach the dizzy heights of his last IPL campaign, in which he made a whopping 759 runs at an average of 54.21, but he has made one knock of 73 against Rajasthan Royals and could have another big innings in him here.

Against a struggling Mumbai Indians’ bowling attack, the 24-year-old is worth siding with to top score for the home team.
