Thursday morning (09:30) sees India take on Bangladesh in Pune, aiming to keep up their unbeaten streak. We’ve previewed the game and given you our betting predictions.

India vs Bangladesh Betting Tips

  • Jasprit Bumrah top IND wicket taker – 13/5
  • Mushfiqur Rahim top BAN run scorer – 4/1

India (1/9) may top the group (at the time of writing) but they will be desperate to avoid another shock defeat here, after the losses of England and South Africa to Afghanistan and Netherlands respectively.

Bangladesh are big outsiders for this one at 11/2, yet have a good record against the Men in Blue, beating them three times in the last four ODI’s between the two.

Rohit Sharma’s side have lived up to the tag of pre-tournament favourites, with emphatic victories over Australia, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Meanwhile the Tigers followed an opening win over Afghanistan, with disappointing losses to England and New Zealand. Bangladesh need to start picking up some points if they are to harbour any hopes of qualification. It looks unlikely they will start here.

Team news

India will be unwilling to change a winning combination and given the flat nature of the Pune pitch, should opt for Shardul Thakur over Ravi Ashwin.

India (probable): Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj

Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan will need to prove his fitness ahead of this one, as he struggles to recover from a quad injury.

Bangladesh (probable): Tanzid Hasan, Litton Das, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan (c), Towhid Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mahmudullah, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman

Jasprit Bumrah top IND wicket taker – 13/5

The unorthodox right-arm pacer has been back to his very best in this tournament, picking up eight wickets at a lick over 11.

Bumrah has added ingenuity to his arsenal and has been equally devastating with his slower cutters as his big swinging yorkers.

The 29-year-old was the difference-maker in the Pakistan game, dismissing the danger man Mohammad Rizwan with an absolute jaffa.

He should have a field day against the Bangladesh top order.

Mushfiqur Rahim top BAN run scorer – 4/1

Talking of the top order for the Tigers, it has been exposed in the last two games and it’s been the wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim who has held the innings together.

He is top run scorer for the Bangladeshis, with 119 in his three innings at an average of just under 60.

The 36-year-old excels at this format, with a career average in ODIs of over 37.
