Must-win territory for Bangladesh
After a comfortable enough win over Hong Kong, Bangladesh fell back down to earth with a bump against Sri Lanka last time out. Early wickets with the new ball hurt them badly and they never really recovered, although Jaker Ali and Shamim Hossain played nicely down the order as they shared an unbeaten 86-run stand to help the side reach 139.
A second-wicket stand of 95 from Pathum Nissanka and Kamil Mishara for Sri Lanka meant the result was never in doubt and they secured victory with 32 balls remaining.
Skipper Litton Das remains the key to Bangladesh's chances and he has performed solidly so far, following up a half-century against Hong Kong with a decent 28 in the Sri Lanka match.
Clinical start from Afghanistan
After slipping to 95 for six in their opener against Hong Kong, Afghanistan looked in a bit of trouble before Sediq Atal and Azmatullah Omarzai combined brilliantly to turn the game on its head. Atal anchored the innings with an unbeaten 73, while Omarzai blasted 53 from just 21 balls as Afghanistan surged to 178.
Their attack then did the rest, with the seamers striking early and the spinners controlling the middle overs to secure a comfortable 94-run win. Captain Rashid Khan showed his usual control with the ball, taking 1 for 20 from his four overs and extending a run that has seen him go at under seven an over in T20Is across 2025.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz went cheaply in the HK game, but his strike rate of 141 in T20 internationals this year underlines how quickly he can change a game if he gets going.
Bangladesh vs Afghanistan Predicted Lineups:

Key Odds
Bangladesh were priced up at 11/8 to beat Sri Lanka but the traders clearly weren't impressed with that performance and they are a 2/1 shot here, with Afghanistan at 4/11. Litton Das' men are capable of beating the top sides, as the recent series victory over Sri Lanka demonstrated, but they need to show far more intent.
Das has been their best performer with the bat and he's 10/3 favourite to top score here, with openers Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain Emon at 7/2. Gurbaz and Ibraham Zadran head the market for Afghanistan at 11/4, with Atal a 7/2 chance to repeat his top scoring efforts from last time out.

Best Bets:
It's been a captain's effort for Das so far and after delivering for this column in beating his runs line against SL, we'll back him to top score for Bangladesh at 10/3.
We'll also back Afghanistan in the Highest Opening Partnership market. Atal got off to a flyer and Gurbaz is capable of scoring at a rapid rate, while Bangladesh became only the second side to face two maidens in the opening two overs of a T20 match between full-member nations against Sri Lanka.
