Australia will be expected to see off Netherlands in Delhi on Wednesday morning(09:30) but are well aware the Dutch have caused one major upset at the World Cup already. We’ve previewed this one and given you our betting predictions.

After losing their first two matches at World Cup 2023 the Australians are back on the semi-final trail courtesy of back-to-back wins over Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
And they won’t be taking the Dutch lightly. Netherlands have only one win to their name but it came against South Africa, and that is an illustration of just what they are capable of.

Travis Head has recovered from a broken hand and if declared fit would probably open for Australia alongside David Warner. Mitchell Marsh may drop down to No.4 with Marnus Labuschagne the batsman likely to make way.
The Netherlands are putting faith in pretty much the same starting 11 and aren’t likely to make changes to the team who beat South Africa and tested Sri Lanka.

Australia are going well now after losing their first two games, which were tough fixtures against India and South Africa.
However, the 1/16 odds that they beat Netherlands in Delhi probably does not quite accurately reflect the gulf between the nations. This is not a vintage Aussie group and we have seen by the way the Dutch cleverly out-thought South Africa, you write them off at your peril.
There’s a vulnerability in Australia’s middle order and in a tournament punctuated by one or two surprising results, the 8/1 Netherlands looks massive.
Roelof van der Merwe – Top Netherlands Wicket Taker @ 7/2
For the Dutch to win they know they need to stick to a game plan and get stuck into Australia’s middle order quickly.
The Australian power is coming from David Warner and Mitchell Marsh but there has been little of note from the bats of Josh Inglis, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis, and even Steve Smith is looking generally becalmed. Those four have contributed just 243 runs across a combined 14 innings.
Key to keeping the pressure on them is wily left-armer Roelof van der Merwe, who will get to tweak his fingers in the middle overs.
The 38-year-old has taken two for 56 against New Zealand and two for 34 against South Africa and is worth a look to be his side’s top wicket taker in Delhi.
Adam Zampa – Top Australia Wicket Taker @ 9/4
Aussie leg-spinner Adam Zampa has overcome a difficult start to the tournament with a pair of outstanding efforts and should be backed to carry on the good work against the Dutch.
Zampa was hit for a combined 123 runs for just one wicket against India and South Africa.
But he has bounced back with returns of four for 47 against Sri Lanka and four for 53 against Pakistan.
Batsmen these days like to go after any bowler who offers a bit of flight but to pay Zampa no respect would be fatal, as Sri Lanka and Pakistan discovered.
