Horse Racing Tips: Tate’s runner to perform with Honour on Friday

Friday brings with it six race meetings across the UK which are entirely made up of flat action. One of the selections for my Daily Double is a runner for John and Sean Quinn's yard.
The horse arrives at Hamilton Park in good form as he seeks to land a first-ever career hat-trick. Read on for my latest Horse Racing Tips.

19:15 Hamilton Park - Sir Garfield @ 4/1
SIR GARFIELD has just posted back-to-back victories for the first time in what has been an explosive start to his 2026 campaign. Trainers John & Sean Quinn should be delighted with how well the five-year-old gelding has seemingly progressed following his break at the end of the previous season.
His two appearances have been spread out, too. They've been almost three months apart but you wouldn't have guessed when studying his performances. Both triumphs came over 6f, the same distance he'll travel in this Class 2 handicap at Hamilton Park on Friday.
The son of James Garfield has a good record at this course, with two wins and a second across his three appearances to date. He was the victor here in August last year as the 5/2 favourite. Jason Hart was on board that day and this partnership will be renewed on Friday.
I'm backing Sir Garfield to experience more joy in Scotland.

20:08 Newmarket - Rose Of Honour @ 7/2
Newmarket's July course plays host to a seven-race card on Friday evening. The penultimate contest is a Class 3 fillies' handicap over 6f and I think this should suit James Tate-trained ROSE OF HONOUR.
This four-year-old has enjoyed a bright start to her career, going unbeaten in her first three starts between September and May (all 6f). Her bubble was burst on her last appearance at Ayr on 20 June (10/15) with that trip coming over 5f.
It's the first setback the daughter of Night of Thunder has suffered, but given her record prior to that defeat, t wouldn't be surprising to have it proven to have just been an anomaly.
Of course, her debut at Newmarket will demand a response and it could be tough given the pedigree of some of her rivals. There are a few options in this race when it comes to betting value but I can't see past Rose Of Honour.
