Jordan and Argentina, already confirmed to finish last and first, respectively, in Group J at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, face off in the third and final round of group-stage fixtures at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas (Saturday 9pm local, Sunday 3am BST, BBC One).
Below are my Jordan vs Argentina Bet Builder Tips as I back one of the world's best forwards to get on the scoresheet, and no, it's not Lionel Messi...

Player 1+ Shots on Target (Sub Switch) - Mousa Al-Tamari (JOR)
Mousa Al-Tamari has been a source of success in my first two Bet Builders involving Jordan, taking eight shots against Austria after I backed him for 2+ Shots, and forcing a save with one of his two efforts against Algeria after I had tipped him for 1+ Shots on Target.
While I appreciate Argentina represents several steps up in class from the aforementioned two teams, Al-Tamari has shown his threat against an elite side already this calendar year, opening the scoring in Stade Rennais’ 3-1 victory over French and European champions Paris Saint-Germain on 13 February.
The 29-year-old averaged 0.9 shots on target per 90 in the 2025/26 Ligue 1 season and has registered a shot on target in four of his last five appearances for club and country.
With Jordan unable to qualify for the knockouts, The Chivalrous Ones can play with a degree of freedom, and so Al-Tamari shouldn’t be fearful of shooting when the opportunity arises.
Betfred's Sub Switch rolls your bet to the oncoming substitute, so you stay in the game, even when your player doesn’t.
Player to Score (Sub Switch) - Julian Alvarez (ARG)
Julian Alvarez missed Atletico Madrid’s final four games of the 2025/26 season with an ankle injury and didn’t feature in either of Argentina’s warm-up friendlies against Honduras and Iceland, so it wasn’t a surprise to see him left out of Lionel Scaloni’s starting XI for the victories over Algeria (3-0) and Austria (2-0).
The 26-year-old, who seems intent on making the move to FC Barcelona this summer, has appeared off the bench in both games, though, and could start against Jordan to build up his fitness further.
Alvarez’s record for Argentina is unremarkable, with 14 goals in 53 caps hardly setting the world alight, and he’s scored just three times in 11 national team appearances since the start of last year.
However, in his last start for La Albiceleste, a 5-0 thrashing of Zambia on 1 April, he opened the scoring in the fourth minute, and he’ll sense a great opportunity to add to his international account against Jordan, who have shipped five goals across two games at this World Cup, and have conceded at least twice in all six games this calendar year.
Player 1+ Shots (Sub Switch) - Nicolas Otamendi (ARG)
Another player Scaloni could call into his starting XI against Jordan is experienced defender Nicolas Otamendi, who earned his 134th cap as a second-half substitute in the victory over Austria.
The 38-year-old has scored eight times for his country, including once this year, in that aforementioned friendly win against Zambia.
Otamendi, who signed a one-year contract with River Plate in his homeland after spending the past six seasons with Benfica, struck three times in 49 appearances for the Portuguese giants during the 2025/26 campaign.
He averaged 0.8 shots per game in both Liga Portugal and the UEFA Champions League, while across 17 World Cup qualifiers, he averaged 0.7 shots per game.
Both Teams to Score - No
Argentina have won their last nine games, keeping eight clean sheets, including one in their last five games heading into this meeting with Jordan.
Both Teams to Score - No has been a winning selection in 10 of their last 11 matches stretching back to last September and it’s difficult to see their defence being breached by Jordan, even if Scaloni opts to make wholesale changes.
Jordan have scored and conceded in five of their six matches in 2026, only failing to fire in a 2-0 friendly defeat to Colombia, the only South American team they have played so far this year, on 8 June.
