Lucky 15 Tips: Eight-race Carlisle card to the rescue

The scorching weather has decimated UK racecards on Wednesday but one gathering that does take place is Carlisle's eight-race jamboree, kicking in at 14:00.
Lovely track, cracking card with some major Newmarket names present, and delighted to be visiting once again for our midweek Lucky 15 tips.
Lucky 15 Tips - Wednesday 24 June 2026
- 15:00 Carlisle - Mrs Mole @ 15/2
- 15:30 Carlisle - Geo @ 6/1
- 17:05 Carlisle - Wine Dark Sea @ 7/4
- 17:35 Carlisle - Nanoscience @ 6/4
*odds correct at time of publication
15:00 Carlisle - Mrs Mole @ 15/2
A two-year-old maiden, over 7f.
Very little in the way of form to go on, but the once-raced daughter of Inns Of Court Mrs Mole shaped well over this distance at Leicester, a stiff track, and after being apprentice-ridden on that debut 16 days ago she's turned out fairly quickly and the magnificent Cliff Lee has been engaged to do the pushing.
Steph Hollinshead trains - extremely adept in placing her horses.
15:30 Carlisle - Geo @ 6/1
Backed this one the other day when agonisingly just failing to get up by a neck at Hamilton, with the third over 3l back.
Geo is a four-year-old Mehmas filly and ultra-shrewd Lanarkshire trainer Jim Goldie has secured the services of Tom Marquand in the saddle, here predominantly to ride a William Haggas filly in a Listed heat.
The horse gets to run off the same mark, 67, this mile trip suits, and she's in fine form.
17:05 Carlisle - Wine Dark Sea @ 7/4
Harry Charlton wouldn't have many runners at Carlisle, but sends his four-year-old Ulysses gelding Wine Dark Sea to tackle this 1m 3f handicap.
Career-best at Ascot last time 46 days ago on seasonal reappearance, taking a better race than this cosily, over slightly further, by 2l. He's been raised 5lb but that looks fair. Lewis Edmunds, for the first time, has been booked to ride.
Getting that bit further on a stiff track such as Ascot will stand him in very good stead here, with a punishing climb to the line up the home straight.
17:35 Carlisle - Nanoscience @ 6/4
Handicap over 7f, for fillies aged three or over.
The selection is Nanoscience, a three-year-old with two wins from six starts so far and another in prime form. She won last time 20 days ago at Wetherby by a neck, making all under champion Oisin Murphy, and only carries a pound more today given the narrow margin of victory.
She steps up slightly in class from that race today but it's a grade she's familiar with. PJ McDonald rides, and it's trainer Andrew Balding's only runner on the card.
Ran well at Newmarket prior to that last win beaten less than 2l at this level, and she looks to have outstanding prospects both today and going forward.
If all four of our selections won, today's notional 50p win Lucky 15, at the prices indicated (they can of course fluctuate), would return around £480 for a £7.50 total stake. If you can improve upon our selections (of course you can) - then go for it!
