John's first selection was for there to be over 2.5 goals in the 90 minutes. The two sides have played just once previously in a friendly, with a 1-1 scoreline thanks to an Andy Carroll goal and an Asamoah Gyan equaliser.

The Real Madrid man averages 1.27 shots on target per 90 minutes but did manage two in the Croatia win.
