France
It was a Jekyll and Hyde kind of performance by France in their opening match win against Senegal.
The Lions of Teranga should have gone in at the break with a lead, but France held firm and Didier Deschamps obviously had words in the dressing room ahead of the second half.
Kylian Mbappe scored twice and Bradley Barcola added the finishing touch as the French won their opening match at a World Cup for the fourth consecutive tournament.
A win over Iraq will send France through to the knockout stages of the competition, but Deschamps will be expecting a far better first-half display this time around.
Mbappe's brace against Senegal saw him overtake Olivier Giroud as the leading scorer for France and he is now just two goals off the overall World Cup record jointly held by Miroslav Klose and Lionel Messi.
Iraq
Iraq played their first World Cup match in 40 years against Norway and duly suffered a 4-1 defeat.
Aymen Hussein found the back of the net in that defeat, becoming just the second Iraqi player to score at the World Cup.
Qualification for the knockout stages looks beyond them, especially considering France are up next.
For Graham Arnold, who led Australia to the knockout stages four years ago, delivering a solid performance and trying to minimise the damage will be the main goals ahead of the game.
France vs Iraq key players
Kylian Mbappe (France)
There is no doubt that France have arguably the best attacking frontline at the World Cup, with Ousmane Dembele, Michael Olise and Desire Doue supporting Mbappe against Senegal.
It was the French captain who recovered from a slow opening 45 minutes to eventually score twice, taking his World Cup tally to 14 goals in the process.
Deschamps knows that the chances of France winning a third World Cup rely on their talisman performing well throughout the tournament.
It was a fantastic start, but the 27-year-old must continue to shine, especially as there will be tougher tests to come in the latter stages of this World Cup.
Aymen Hussein (Iraq)
Hussein scored the goal that sent Iraq to these finals in the 2-1 victory over Bolivia in the final of the Inter-Confederation play-offs back in March.
Not content with that, Hussein then scored Iraq's equaliser against Norway, although he did later score an own goal in the dying embers of the same game.
Nevertheless, Hussein will be Arnold's main focal point against the French in Philadelphia. Another loss will send the Asian side home early, but the forward could put a spanner in the works by netting once again at these finals.
