Match Result - England

England were able to squeak their way past New Zealand in their most recent outing on Saturday and it appears that there is more work needed to be done to get the Three Lions firing more effectively in the final third.

Thomas Tuchel deployed different XIs in each half which may have played a part, but he's likely to field a strong side against Costa Rica that should feature for much of the game.

With this being their final fixture before their tussle with Croatia in Group L, I believe England will be determined to finish their preparations strongly. Considering they are up against a team who not so long ago were thrashed 5-0 by Iran, I think the Three Lions will prevail in Florida.

Harry Kane is England's all-time leading goalscorer with 79 and he was the match-winner against New Zealand last time out. The 32-year-old now has 10 goals across his previous 11 appearances for the Three Lions.

The striker has also just enjoyed a magnificent scoring campaign with Bayern Munich, netting 61 goals in 51 outings across all competitions. He's one of the deadliest centre-forwards on the planet and I'm confident he'll find the net here, but the value lies in him opening the scoring.

While there is more to be desired from England in the final third, they have not struggled for clean sheets. They have posted shutouts in seven of their past nine fixtures and I believe this trend can continue against Costa Rica.

Los Ticos are yet to score against England in two encounters, so I think BTTS - No is worth covering on Wednesday night.

While I suspect the Three Lions will be hoping to improve their attacking quality against Costa Rica, I'm not convinced they will drastically improve in one game. This will be another good exercise for Tuchel's men but preserving key personnel will likely be a key focus.

A strong XI is expected but this team may be broken up early in the second half, and if we go off what we saw against New Zealand, may just nullify England's attacking threat.
