GT vs CSK Prediction: Sudharsan and Samson can cash in

Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings meet in Ahmedabad on Thursday in a clash that will shape the final play-off picture of IPL 2026. GT are pushing hard for a top‑two finish and a place in Qualifier 1, while CSK need a convincing win — and favours elsewhere — to keep their faint post-season hopes alive.
The sides met earlier this season at Chepauk, where GT coasted to an eight‑wicket win. Kagiso Rabada ripped through CSK’s top order, and Sai Sudharsan’s superb 87 ensured a comfortable chase. This clash takes place at the cavernous Narendra Modi Stadium, where Shubman Gill’s side have won four of their last five matches. Read on for my GT vs CSK predictions.

*odds correct at time of publication
Gujarat Titans are 8/11 at home, while Chennai Super Kings are 11/10 to take the points they need to stand any chance of making the playoffs.
It’s 5/6 for CSK to hit the most match sixes, and 4/6 for GT to have the highest opening partnership.
Team News
Gujarat Titans are expected to field an unchanged side, despite their defeat to KKR last time out.
Gill’s side have a settled top order and power through the middle with Rashid Khan, Arshad Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj forming a varied and formidable bowling attack.
Chennai recalled Spencer Johnson when Jamie Overton was ruled out for the rest of the tournament with a right thigh injury but the Australian paceman has delivered only one wicket at an economy rate of 9.28 in the last two matches.
MS Dhoni remains available due to a thumb injury but could feature if the team manages to qualify for the playoffs.
Sai Sudharsan Over 32.5 Runs @ 5/6
Sai Sudharsan has been one of the standout performers of IPL 2026. Sitting fourth in the Orange Cap race with 554 runs, he has delivered remarkable consistency and thrives against CSK — averaging 64.33 against them.
His 46‑ball 87 in the reverse fixture was a masterclass in tempo control, and the Narendra Modi Stadium suits him perfectly. The large boundaries reward his placement‑heavy game, and the predictable bounce allows him to build without taking early risks.
With five fifties and a century in his last seven innings, Sudharsan is in elite form. CSK’s Powerplay bowling has lacked potency all season, making the left‑hander well‑placed to clear his 32.5‑run line again.

Sanju Samson Top Away Team Batter @ 9/4
Samson is back near the top of the Orange Cap standings after a relatively lean campaign last year when he averaged 35.62 with a high score of 66.
A change of scenery seems to have worked wonders for the right-hander, who joined CSK after an eight-year stint with Rajasthan Royals.
Samson has accumulated 477 runs so far this year and top-scored in four of his side’s last 10 matches with knocks of 115 not out, 48, 101 not out and 87 not out.
