Chennai Super Kings furthered their IPL play-offs claims with a win over Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday and the pair will become familiar foes as they meet again this Friday.

LSG are already out of play-off contention but could act as a spoiler for CSK, who need to win two of their last three at a minimum if they are to finish in the top four. Read on for my LSG vs CSK predictions.

Team News

MS Dhoni has not travelled for this clash so looks set to miss out for Chennai Super Kings with a calf injury which has ruled him out since the start of this season.

Josh Inglis starred on return for Lucknow Super Giants from a finger injury last time out and will surely open the batting with compatriot Mitchell Marsh again.

LSG vs CSK Odds

Chennai Super Kings are 8/11 to win this one, while Lucknow Super Giants are Evens. Mitchell Marsh is 13/5 favourite to top score for LSG, while Sanju Samson is 11/5 to top-score for CSK.

Chennai Super Kings to win @ 4/6

The Super Giants made a decent total of 203/8 when these two sides met on Sunday, but again it was their bowling which let them down as Chennai Super Kings chased the total with five wickets and four balls to spare.

LSG have now lost seven of their last eight games and are now eliminated from postseason contention as a result. CSK on the other hand are still scrapping away to progress after winning four of their last five outings.

MS Dhoni not travelling to play in what would have been his first game of the season could work out in CSK's favour with the Indian cricketing legend potentially a distraction if not fully fit.

This Ekana pitch has tended to be low-scoring and CSK's bowling prowess could be the difference between these two teams, with LSG's bowling attack looking increasingly weak.

Mohammed Shami and Prince Yadav went wicketless last time out and CSK could tee off on their other bowlers. Side with the visitors to win this one.

Sanju Samson top Chennai Super Kings batter @ 11/5

Sanju Samson has been one of the standout batters in this year’s IPL and he is fancied to star once again for Chennai Super Kings.

The wicket-keeper has 430 runs  at an average of 53.75 this season and is currently the only player to make two centuries in the tournament.

Samson could tee off on this bowling attack and looks a tempting price to be the visitors' top scorer once more.
