Burnley vs Brentford Prediction: Bees to continue their away buzz

Burnley remain eight points adrift of safety in the Premier League but the Clarets have picked up four points from their past two matches. A home clash against Brentford awaits them on Saturday at Turf Moor (15:00 GMT).
The Bees suffered a rare home defeat last time out - losing 2-0 to Brighton & Hove Albion. They continue their push for European football but there are still five points between them and Liverpool in sixth. Team News
Knee injuries are keeping Burnley trio Josh Cullen, Jordan Beyer and Zeki Amdouni out of action. The Clarets' treatment room also contains Connor Roberts, Mike Tresor, Armando Broja (all knocks) and Axel Tuanzebe (Achilles).
After salvaging a draw at Chelsea last weekend, goalscorer Zian Flemming will be eyeing a spot in the starting lineup on Saturday.
Brentford are also plagued by knee injuries to Fabio Carvalho, Josh Dasilva and Antoni Milambo.
Head coach Keith Andrews may consider making some changes to his side after losing to Brighton, so we may see Kevin Schade recalled to the attack to support top scorer Igor Thiago.
Burnley know all too well just how effective Thiago can be, having conceded twice to the Brazilian in the reverse fixture back in November.
Burnley vs Brentford Predicted Lineups
- Burnley: Dubravka; Laurent, Worral, Esteve; Walker, Ugochukwu, Hannibal, Humphreys; Edwards, Anthony; Flemming
- Brentford: Kelleher; Kayode, Van den Berg, Ajer, Henry; Janelt, Henderson; Ouattara, Jensen, Schade; Thiago
Two of Burnley's wins in the Premier League have come on home soil and they are 18/5 to add a third to the list on Saturday.
Six of the Clarets' past 11 outings in the top flight have ended level and you can back the draw on this occasion at 11/4.
Brentford have triumphed in four of their last five away games in this competition and they are the 8/15 favourites to collect the three points.
Thiago is the Bees' leading marksman with 17 league goals and he is 9/10 to score anytime in this contest.
Burnley vs Brentford Stats
- Brentford have won 4 of their last 5 away games in the PL
- 2 or more goals have been scored in each of Burnley's previous 9 matches in the league
- Vitaly Janelt has been booked in 5 of the past 7 fixtures in the top flight
Match Result & Total Goals Over/Under 1.5 - Brentford & Over @ 11/10
Burnley may be two games unbeaten but their overall record in the league this season has not been good. They are ranked 19th for home form this campaign with just 10 points from 13 games.
Then there is Brentford, who have collected 12 from four of their previous five away games in the top flight. Earlier in the season, the Bees were reliant on their home form but they have now found a concoction that is leading to success on their travels.
Offensively, I think the visitors have a lot more to offer than Burnley - Brentford have scored 11 more goals in the league. This is helped by having the second-highest scorer in the division, who has already tormented Scott Parker's side in 2025/26.
I am confident that Brentford get back to winning ways here and to improve the price I have included over 1.5 goals, which gives us an 11/10 (implied probability of 47.6%) selection.
This is because there have been at least two goals scored in each of Burnley's last nine fixtures in the Premier League.

Player To Receive A Card - Vitaly Janelt @ 10/3
When the two sides met in west London back in November, there was surprisingly just one booking in the entire game. It was picked up by Burnley's Tuanzebe.
There were six cards dished out in total in the Clarets' trip to Chelsea last week and I think there could be a few brandished against Brentford. And it is within the Bee's ranks I believe the value lies when looking for a player to be booked.
The energetic Vitaly Janelt is who I am turning to as he covers so much ground as a midfielder. He loves to get stuck into duels and he is not always clean in such battles. The German has committed 17 fouls across 22 appearances in the Premier League this term and has so far been shown seven yellow cards.
Five of them have come in the last seven games and so he is really prone to bookings right now.
