Sydney FC’s winless woes continued on Tuesday with a 1-1 draw at home to Auckland FC. The Sky Blues are yet to record a victory in February (D1, L2) and have lost four of their last six games.

There will be big pressure on Ufuk Talay’s side to win this Saturday (06:00 GMT, TNT Sports 1) when they host Michael Valkanis’ Brisbane Roar, who have lost six of their eight contests (W1, D1) in 2026, at Allianz Stadium. Below are my Sydney vs Brisbane Roar predictions, alongside team news and match odds.

Sydney vs Brisbane Roar Betting Tips

  • Match Result & Total Goals Over/Under 1.5 - Sydney & Over 1.5 Goals @ 21/20
  • Player to Receive a Card - Marcel Tisserand (SYD) @ 5/1

Team News

Abel Walatee and Marcel Tisserand are both back fit for Sydney, meaning Gus Hoefsloot (wrist) is their only remaining injury absentee.

Football Odds

Henry Hore, James O’Shea, Milorad Stajic (all leg) and Nathan Amanatidis (quad) are still sidelined for Brisbane Roar, but Noah Maieroni returns from the suspension he served in last Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Melbourne Victory, a result that ended the club’s three-game losing run.

Sydney vs Brisbane Roar Predicted Lineups

  • Sydney: Devenish-Meares; R. Grant, Tisserand, A. Grant, Garuccio; Arslan, Okon-Engstler; Lolley, Quintal, Quispe; Stamatelopoulos
  • Brisbane Roar: Bouzanis; Salas, Valkanis, Ludwik, Dench; Klein, Maieroni, Vrakas; Long, Ruhs, D'Agostino

Sydney vs Brisbane Roar Odds

Sydney are 8/11 favourites, implying a 57.9% probability of success, while Brisbane Roar, who won last season’s corresponding fixture 4-3, are 3/1, or a 25% chance, to claim a third away victory of the current campaign, with the draw offered at 13/5.

Sydney vs Brisbane Roar Stats

  • BRI have lost six out of eight games in 2026 (W1, D1)
  • All seven ALM matches at Allianz Stadium this season have produced 2+ goals
  • Tisserand (SYD) has been booked in two of his last four apps

Match Result & Total Goals Over/Under 1.5 - Sydney & Over 1.5 Goals @ 21/20

Sydney may be three games without a win, but it’s four without a victory for Brisbane, whose early-season heroics have faded into the background.

Six defeats in eight games this calendar year is a damning statistic for the Roar, who failed to even get on the scoresheet in the first three of those.

Valkanis replenished the squad slightly in the transfer window with the loan signings of Marius Lode and Nicholas D’Agostino, but they also lost Lucas Herrington to the Colorado Rapids, weakening an already brittle back line.

Today's Football Fixtures

Sydney’s squad, meanwhile, is packed with talent, and the cream will be expected to rise to the top on Saturday.

While the Sky Blues are winless in three games this month, their two defeats were by single-goal margins against a couple of top-three sides, Auckland FC (1-0) and Adelaide United (1-2).

The visit of Brisbane should bring some comfort to Talay and his confidence-stricken stars, and with all seven league games at Allianz Stadium this season producing two or more goals, I’m backing the hosts to win and over 1.5 goals at 21/20.

Player to Receive a Card - Marcel Tisserand (SYD) @ 5/1

Sydney centre-back Tisserand didn’t pick up a single booking in his first 12 ALM appearances, but he’s now received two yellow cards in his last four games.

The 33-year-old was cautioned in a 4-0 defeat at Melbourne Victory on January 26 and the 2-1 home defeat to Adelaide United on February 14 before he was forced to sit out Tuesday’s stalemate with Auckland.

Tisserand should return to the starting XI for the visit of the Roar, who have a few forwards adept at drawing fouls.

D’Agostino has been taken down three times across his last two matches, while Chris Long and Michael Ruhs are averaging 1.1 and 0.6 fouls won per game, respectively, this season, the latter despite coming off the bench in seven of his 18 appearances.

Tisserand, then, could be in for a physical battle on Saturday, making him an attractive option in the Player to Receive a Card market at 5/1.
