1 pt 18:21 Suffolk Downs – Westfield Tigris (T1) @ SP

A trio of trap one selections at Suffolk Downs this evening on a competitive mixed card featuring six open races. At 18:21 in the A6 graded race over the standard four-bend 388 metre trip, WESTFIELD TIGRIS appeals from T1.

The Jason Smith-trained railer caught the eye in defeat last week when finding all sorts of trouble at the first bend when about to lead round. Tonight, if Tigris gets it right at the boxes, she can lead round and once on the bunny, the September 2022 daughter of Grangeview Ten is a 24.54 type of performer and a repeat of that would see her take this.

The key is the break. It’s imperative that Westfield Tigris holds Hes Dynamite (T2) at lid rise and hits the back straight a couple clear. Late Lowry (T6) bolted up last week, winning by over eight lengths when beating Tigris following first-bend bumping. The wide seed will be staying on well and would be a huge danger to all this evening granted a clear run.

1 pt 18:39 Suffolk Downs – Golden Palace (T1) @ SP

The Suffolk Downs Stayers open race at 18:39 can go to well-drawn Towcester raider GOLDEN PALACE from T1. The Michelle Brown-trained railer is a class act over four and six-bend with runs against Romeo Empire, recent Romford 575m track record holder Gary The Arb and multiple Category One winner New Destiny all on his card.

Tonight, if Golden Palace gets it right at the boxes and holds his pitch into the corner, this could be all over bar the shouting for his supporters. Westfield Vicky (T6) is in flying form with four on the bounce over this 548m trip.

The solo wide seed is well-drawn to turn with the pace and would be a huge danger with a smart exit from the boxes. The Heather Dimmock-trained railer Droopys Mikado (T2) will be staying on well and could be worth including in forecast bets.

1 pt 19:14 Suffolk Downs – Tomahawk (T1) @ SP

A little later on, look out for TOMAHAWK who runs from T1 in the Suffolk Downs Standard open race at 19:14. The Michelle Brown-trained railer is often well-supported in the market but has disappointed on numerous occasions, including one defeat over this course and distance when sent off as the 4/11 favourite.

Tonight, Tomahawk is likely to be sent off at a backable price and that's often the time to catch the Towcester raider. This race is all on the break, with a smart exit from the boxes Tomahawk could surprise at a price.

Kennelmate Golden Acre (T5) bolted up last week, clocking 23.66 when making all, she’s a major playing this evening. Bucking Bucks (T6) has won four on the bounce in graded and open class company at Suffolk Downs. The May 2022 son of Burgess Bucks is blessed with blistering early pace and could attract support if priced up at odds-against.
