Hull vs Blackburn Prediction: Tigers to maul Rovers

Hull City host Blackburn Rovers at the MKM Stadium on Sunday (14:30 GMT, TNT Sports 7) in the third round of the FA Cup. The Tigers will look to avenge their 3-0 defeat here in the Championship against Rovers back in August.
Below you will find my Hull vs Blackburn predictions, accompanied by the latest match odds and team news.

Team News
Hull are set to be without the services of Ryan Giles, Mohamed Belloumi (both hamstring), Joe Gelhardt, Brandon Williams (both calf) and John Lundstram (knee) due to injury.
Semi Ajayi remains on international duty with Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Oli McBurnie and Kyle Joseph are both set to feature in attack on Sunday, with the former hoping to have shaken off a calf injury in time to be involved.
Blackburn have added to their squad in the January transfer window by bringing in defender Eiran Cashin from Brighton & Hove Albion. The Irishman had spent the first half of the campaign at Birmingham City but was limited to just three starts.
Cashin could be set to make his debut here.
Ryan Hedges (ankle), Sidnei Tavares (knee), Adam Forshaw, Andri Gudjohnsen (hamstring), Augustus Kargbo (calf) and Scott Wharton (Achilles) are all in the treatment room for the visitors.
Hull vs Blackburn Predicted Lineups
- Hull: Pandur; Hughes, Egan, Famewo; Coyle, Crooks, Slater, Gyabi, McCarthy; Joseph, Millar
- Blackburn: Pears; Miller, McLoughlin, Pratt; Litherland, Baradiji, Tronstad, Hedges, Cantwell; Henriksson, Ohashi
Hull have won four of their last six games, and they are 5/4 (implied probability of 44.4%) to come out on top in 90 minutes.
Three of Blackburn's past four matches have ended in a draw, with the stalemate priced at 12/5. Rovers are 21/10 to win at the MKM Stadium for the second time this season.
Hull have kept clean sheets in two of their previous three home fixtures, and they are 11/5 to shut out Blackburn on Sunday.
Hull vs Blackburn Stats
- Hull have won four of their last six games
- Blackburn have failed to score in three of their past four matches
Match Result - Hull @ 5/4
Hull will no doubt look to get their own back against Blackburn after the visitors humiliated the Tigers with a 3-0 defeat earlier in the campaign. They will have a good opportunity to get revenge as they have won four of their last six matches ahead of Sunday.
Meanwhile, Rovers are winless in each of their past four outings coming into the weekend, so momentum is certainly on Hull's side. They may have slipped to a home defeat against Stoke City last time out, but with their fixture against Watford getting postponed, they will have had over a week to recover from the hectic festive period and prepare for this tie.
The visitors haven't had this same luxury as they were in action against Charlton Athletic last Sunday. I am expecting the home side to look sharper and fitter as a result, and coupled with their form, they should be able to get the job done in normal time.

Both Teams To Score - No @ 6/5
As mentioned earlier, Hull have recorded clean sheets in two of their last three home games ahead of this contest, and I think they are capable of shutting out Blackburn on Sunday. After what happened in the league clash here, the hosts will look to be more defensively sound against Valerien Ismael's side while also trying to be more effective in the final third.
Additionally, Blackburn have failed to score in three of their previous four matches, so backing BTTS - No looks a sensible play on Humberside.
