Monday Greyhound Tips: Today’s greyhound selections are all Elite

Like Pete Wicks but with a less weird face, our very own dog expert Michael Smyth (@bettingjungle on X) is here. Our man comes equipped with a trio of post-festive of greyhound treats on this fine Monday morning.

Below are his Monday Greyhound Tips, with selections from Monmore, Romford and Nottingham.

Today's Greyhound Odds

2 pt 14:09 Romford – Townsend Peggy (T1) @ SP

Thirteen meetings take place today with eight live on Premier Greyhound Racing and five on SisRacing. The first selection is TOWNSEND PEGGY who lines up from T1 in the A12 graded race from Romford at 14:09. The former Harlow-based runner caught the eye last time out on what was only her third competitive run at the London Road circuit, Romford. Peggy showed nice pace throughout and hinted that, given a chance to lead round she would prove to be above this grade.

Today, with a plot draw to work from, the Debbie Hurlock-trained railer can hold her pitch into the corner and hit the back straight a couple clear. On the bunny, Peggy can dip below the 25-second barrier and take this race. Lightly raced June 2024 youngster Zazzeras Iris rates as the danger from T2. The Paul Young-trained pup can chase home the selection and fill the forecast spot.

3 pt 15:19 Monmore – Serenity Sunset (T1) @ SP

Over at the Wolverhampton venue Monmore, one that should go well is SERENITY SUNSET, who runs from T1 in the A10 graded race at 15:19 over the standard four-bend 480-meter trip. Vixons Maguire (T2) looks likely to lead round, but the June 2024 pup struggles off the final bend and will be vulnerable late on to a finisher. That deep closer could be Serenity Sunset. She’s around fourteen weeks out of season and should be approaching peak fitness following two recent runs over course and distance.

The key to this race is avoiding serious trouble at the first bend and turning within striking distance of Vixons Maguire. Anglesey Lola rates as the main danger from T3. It’s imperative that we beat that rival into the corner and get first crack and the leader. Granted a clear run, Serenity Sunset can power home and land this, she rates as a strong bet.

1 pt 19:44 Nottingham – Elite Max (T1) @ SP

A little later on look out for Elite Max (T1) on English debut at 19:44. The April 2024 son of Grangeview Ten flew round in a recent course and distance trial, clocking 31.23 from off the pace. That was only the second time Max has run over the four-bend 500-metre trip at the Colwick Park venue Nottingham, and he’s likely to improve again this evening, especially if he leads at the rails. The key to the race is the break and run into the first bend.

If Max traps in best fashion and brings his Enniscorthy form across the Irish Sea, he can make a mockery of this A6 grade and bolt up this evening. Creative Devon is lightly raced and rates as the main danger from T4. Petite Alfie (T3) stays on in taking fashion and the Adrian McPherson-trained railer could be worth including in forecast and tricast bets.
