Saturday Greyhound Tips: Rural Pest ready to rock in Romford

Below are his Saturday Greyhound Tips, with selections from Central Park, Romford and Hove.

Today's Greyhound Odds

1 pt 19:25 Central Park – Lets Go Johnny (T6) @ SP

Three well-drawn wide seeds for us today on a busy evening of action across the Premier Greyhound Racing tracks. The first selection runs at Central Park in the Category Three Arc Maiden final at 19:25. LETS GO JOHNNY (T6) impressed in the heats last week when showing nice back straight pace to claim the victory and, with a clear run this evening, the Spencer Mavrias-trained wide seed can hit the front by the third bend and power clear of the chasing pack. Although beaten by Lets Go Johnny last week, Droopys Softy rates as the danger from T2.

The Ricky Holloway-trained railer would be a huge runner at a decent price if allowed a soft lead. Romford raider Brunch Pal is worth noting in the market from T3. The September 2023 son of Dorotas Wildcat met plenty of trouble in the heats yet still managed to win, he would be a huge danger with a level break.

1 pt 19:33 Hove – Seomra Benji (T6) @ SP

Over at the Nevill Road circuit Hove, one that should go well is SEOMRA BENJI, who runs from T6 in the Coral New Years 500 Maiden Trophy heat at 19:33. A vacant box on his inside strengths Benji's claim in this race and with a level break he can hit the front early on and kick for home off the second bend. In recent weeks, the August 2023 son of Ballymac Cashout has recorded 29.65 and 29.72 twice over course and distance.

A repeat of those times should see him take this. Crossfield Craig (T1) is a consistent A2 and A3 performer around Hove. He’s capable of a flashy exit, he could be the one to challenge Benji into the corner. Shes One Eighty (T3) will be staying on well and could be worth including in forecast bets.

2 pt 21:14 Romford – Rural Pest (T6) @ SP

At 21:14 all eyes will be on RURAL PEST when the Gemma Evans-trained wide seed makes his six-bend debut over the 575-metre trip at the London Road circuit, Romford. The former Irish-based runner has kept good company throughout his career, running against the likes of English Derby winner De Lahdedah and other Category One contenders like Coosane Pickles and Bombay Pat.

Since moving over the Irish Sea, Rural Pest has run twice over the four-bend 500-metre trip at Hove and impressed last time out with a flashy 29.54 clock winning by over seven lengths. Tonight, on competitive Romford debut, he looks well-drawn to lead wide. If that happens, his natural pace will see him kick half a dozen clear and, once on the bunny, the trip shouldn’t be an issue. Zenith Legend (T5) can chase home the selection and fill the forecast spot.
