Aston Villa vs Manchester United Prediction: Can stunning form continue?

It has been the joy of six as far as Aston Villa have been concerned and after following up their win over Arsenal with a hard fought victory at West Ham last Sunday, Unai Emery’s men may just have found a place on the grid for this season’s title race.
The West Midlands outfit will now look to make it seven successive league wins on Sunday as they play host to a Manchester United side who contested an eight-goal thriller with Bournemouth at the start of the week. A share of the points at Old Trafford meaning United have won just two of their last six. Below you can find my Aston Villa vs Manchester United predictions.

Team News
With question marks surrounding the fitness of Emi Martinez, the Argentine may have to delay his return between the Villa sticks until next week. Should the 2022 World Cup winner miss out again due to his back injury, Marco Bizot will be tasked with playing the role of able deputy.
While there is no need for deputies elsewhere in the Villa lineup. The same 10 outfield players who started in last Sunday’s win against West Ham are all set to start at Villa Park in just a few hours. That does also mean that Donyell Malen could once again have an impact from the bench.
As for the visitors Manchester United, they may look to install Lisandro Martinez in the back line as the Argentine defender’s fitness continues to improve. However, Casemiro’s behaviour has not improved these past few weeks and after getting booked against Bournemouth on Monday, he misses out due to suspension.
While United are also unable to call upon the services of forward Bryan Mbuemo as the Cameroonian international looks to deliver Afcon glory to the Indomitable Lions in Morocco. Therefore Benjamin Sesko is set to lead the line as Matheus Cunha drops into a support role.

When a team is in such a good run of form, there is always that lingering doubt of when it ends. Could this be the weekend when Villa’s winning streak comes to an end? It could, but I do not envisage that being the case. In my opinion, when a team is hot you back them until they are not.
It’s not just six league wins in a row for Unai Emery and his players but it is also 10 from the last 11 – the only blot on the copybook being their recent defeat to Liverpool at Anfield. The home win has a price which balances value and jeopardy in my opinion and although nobody wants to be single at Christmas, I am opting for the single here.

I think Aston Villa will win, I think both teams will score but with at least a goal for either side priced at 4/7, I need to be creative in how I can make this probable outcome work harder for me. With that in mind, I am going to let Bruno Fernandes do the hard work for me.
He scored on Monday night against Bournemouth but it is his ability to create for others that has piqued my interest before the clash at Villa Park gets underway. The 31-year-old has had 12 goal involvements in this season’s Premier League, seven of those have been assists and this is why I fancy him to have a hand in what could well be United’s consolation goal on Sunday.
