This time last season, Sean Dyche was in charge of Everton, but he now visits their new Hill Dickinson Stadium as the Nottingham Forest head coach. Both the Tricky Trees and the Toffees head into Saturday's game (15:00 GMT) on the back of 1-0 wins in midweek, at Wolverhampton Wanderers and AFC Bournemouth, respectively.

Below are my Everton vs Nottingham Forest predictions, supported by all the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, Seamus Coleman (both hamstring) and Merlin Rohl (hernia) all remain sidelined with injuries, while Idrissa Gueye and Tim Iroegbunam are serving suspensions.

Michael Keane (unspecified) is a doubt for Saturday, too, after missing Tuesday's 1-0 win at AFC Bournemouth.

Football Odds

Nottingham Forest's treatment room is even busier, housing the talents of Ola Aina, Dilane Bakwa, Douglas Luiz (all thigh), Chris Wood, Angus Gunn (both knee), Oleksandr Zinchenko (groin) and Taiwo Awoniyi (muscle).

Murillo missed Wednesday's 1-0 victory at Wolves due to illness, and the Brazilian defender is a doubt for Saturday's trip to Merseyside.

Everton vs Nottingham Forest Predicted Lineups

  • Everton: Pickford; Garner; O'Brien, Tarkowski, Mykolenko; Dewsbury-Hall, Alcaraz; Ndiaye, McNeil, Grealish; Barry
  • Nottingham Forest: Sels; Savona, Milenkovic, Morato, Williams; Sangare, Anderson; Ndoye, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Igor Jesus

Everton vs Nottingham Forest Odds

Everton have lost two of their last three home games, but David Moyes' men are 23/20 favourites on Saturday, implying a 46.5% probability of success, with Forest priced at 13/5, or a 27.8% chance, and the draw offered at 23/10.

Both Teams to Score, Jack Grealish 1+ Shot on Target & Elliot Anderson 1+ Shot on Target has been boosted from 5/1 to 6/1 by the Betfred traders, who are also offering Grealish To Score The First Goal at 10/1 (was 17/2) and Forest To Win To Nil at 11/2 (was 9/2).

Everton vs Nottingham Forest Stats

  • EVE & NFO have both played out a couple of 1-1 draws in this season's PL
  • Eight of EVE's & NFO's 14 PL games have produced 24 or fewer shots
  • Under 24.5 shots have been taken in the last three H2Hs

Correct Score - Draw 1-1 @ 11/2

I rarely back correct scorelines as they can be so difficult to predict, but I think there's a strong case to be made for a 1-1 on Saturday.

Everton and Forest have played out a couple of 1-1 draws apiece this season, with the latter's both coming away from home at Crystal Palace in August and Burnley in September.

Everton's first 1-1 was at home to West Ham in September, while their second was away to Sunderland in November.

Today's Football Fixtures

Both sides have been solid defensively recently, with Everton keeping three clean sheets in their last four - a 4-1 home defeat to Newcastle United last Saturday is the only blot on their copybook in that run.

Forest, meanwhile, have kept two clean sheets in their last four league games, and in one of the two that they didn't record a shutout, they conceded just once in a 3-1 victory over Leeds United.

Everton (15 goals) and Forest (14) are the joint-third and second-lowest scorers in the Premier League this season, so it's hard to imagine too many goals being scored between the two on Saturday.

Total Shots Over/Under +24.5 - Under 24.5 @ 10/11

Eight of Everton's 14 Premier League games this season, including three of their last four, have featured 24 or fewer shots. The only exception from the last four is the 28 recorded in their 1-0 win at Manchester United on November 24, when the Toffees were reduced to 10 men in the 13th minute.

Under 24.5 shots has been a winning selection in four of their seven home matches, including the last three.

Forest have also seen 24 or fewer shots taken in eight of their 14 league games this term, including five of their eight away from home.

This has been a winning bet in the last three meetings between Everton and Forest, with 15 and 24 recorded in the last two on Merseyside.
