Tottenham Hotspur vs Villarreal Prediction: Muani to be the main man for Spurs

The Champions League anthem returns to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday as Spurs play host to Villarreal and fresh off their Europa League success just four months ago, new manager Thomas Frank and his players are now preparing to mix it with Europe's heavyweights. 

Whether you can place Villarreal in that category can be argued but at the same time the famous footballing Yellow Submarine loves nothing more than sinking opponents who do not take them seriously. Both sides keen to get off to a perfect start, both sides know this cannot be the case. Team News  

Tottenham's reward for winning the Europa League in May was a golden ticket to this season's Champions League and because of that lofty status, there is no doubt the North London side have become a far greater attraction when it comes to recruiting some of Europe's hottest talents. 

Which means the pair of Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo-Muani are in line to make their European debuts for Spurs and with plenty of excitement attached to the arrival of the pair, they will be tasked with turning that excitement into goals at the expense of La Liga outfit Villarreal.  

As for Tuesday's visitors, their attack is likely to be spearheaded by former Arsenal record signing Nicolas Pepe and new summer capture Georges Mikautuadze who last season scored 11 Ligue 1 goals for Lyon. In addition to this, Spurs loanee Manor Solomon could face his parent club. 

Solomon was a late arrival in the summer transfer window and did impress in Israel's recent 4-5 loss to Italy during the international break. However, Villarreal boss Marcelino Garcia Toral may opt to start the 26-year-old from the bench and deploy the winger as an impact sub if needed.  

Tottenham vs Villarreal Odds

Tottenham are priced as favourites at 5/6 to win this game, with Villarreal the outsiders at 3/1. That gives the home team an implied win probability of 54.5% while a draw can be backed at 5/2. 

BTTS has been priced at 4/6 and over 2.5 goals is 8/11, while Randal Kolo-Muani is the favourite to score first at 9/2.

Randal Kolo-Muani to score anytime @ 6/4 

One of Daniel Levy's parting gifts to Tottenham was the capture of Randal Kolo-Munai and with the PSG loanee now calling the N17 postcode home for the rest of the season, the French international will look to make himself comfortable in his new surroundings. The best way to do that? Scoring goals as soon as possible.  

Admittedly manager Thomas Frank does have options in the centre forward position but with a talent like this at his disposal, it would be a surprise to see the 26-year-old only playing a cameo on Tuesday night. What would not come as a surprise, is seeing Kolo-Munai's name on the scoresheet. 

Tottenham to win to nil @ 11/5 

Although Tottenham's defensive line is unchanged in terms of names, there is already a different look and feel when it comes to playing style and if the pairing of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven can stay fit throughout the season, it may lead to a further positive outlook in the white half of North London. 

That partnership was key to Spurs' European glory in Bilbao back in May and it will be integral to any joy that Tottenham supporters are hoping to revel in on Tuesday. A rock solid backline allowing new attacking talent to flourish at the other end, makes a home win to nil look rather appealing.
