13:20 Goodwood - Grey Cuban @ 10/1
There’s a suspicion that Grey Cuban’s latest success on the Roodee has been underestimated in the opener for Glorious Goodwood.
He bolted up with a career best performance at Chester just 18 days ago and an 8lb rise for that win looks on the lenient side from the assessor.
It often pays to be on the front end out of trouble over this course and distance and with the yard flying in recent weeks with eight winners from their last 32 runners at the time of writing, there’s plenty of reasons to think he’ll go well again.
With Betfred offering five places, he looks like an each-way bet at double figure odds.

13:55 Goodwood - Do Or Do Not @ 8/1
There are plenty of nice prospects in this year’s Vintage Stakes with a chance taken on Do Or Do Not for the Ed Walker team.
This son of Space Blues may still be a maiden, but he proved his Coventry Stakes second to the highly promising Gstaad was no fluke when runner-up at Newmarket in the July Stakes and he’s given the impression that he’s going to relish the step up to seven furlongs in both of those defeats.

14:30 Goodwood - Kinross @ 10/3
There was plenty to like about the reappearance of Kinross at Haydock on his return to action in May and given that he tends to improve plenty from his reappearance runs, he looks like a major player in his bid for a third Lennox Stakes.
He wasn’t seen to best effect in this race last year when held up off a moderate gallop, but he showed he was as good as ever next time out landing the Group 2 Betfred Park Stakes at Doncaster and he ought to get a decent pace to aim at in this year’s renewal of the Lennox with the likes of Audience, Quinault, Witness Stand and Ten Bob Tony all likely to go forward and make this a real test.

15:05 Goodwood - Illinois @ 6/4
This could be a straightforward assignment for Illinois who only found Trawlerman too good in Ascot’s Gold Cup last time out.
He shaped like the drop back to this sort of distance would be in his favour that day and this looks like an ideal opportunity for him to break his Group 1 duck.
He has hit the frame in his three previous attempts at the highest level, including a notable narrow defeat to stablemate Jan Brueghel is last season’s St Leger, form that has worked out very nicely.

15:45 Goodwood - Adrestia @ 5/1
Simon & Ed Crisford’s yard arrive at Goodwood in flying form and they have a fascinating runner in this competitive handicap with Adrestia.
He wasn’t seen to best effect behind Rumstar at Sandown last time out, but his previous success at Royal Ascot when defeating Hammer The Hammer looks like a rock solid piece of form and he’s less exposed than plenty of the rivals he faces this time around.

16:20 Goodwood - Naval Light @ 11/8
An intriguing maiden with plenty of nice prospects taking their chance in this 17-runner field, but one who has already achieved plenty is Naval Light.
The Wathnan Racing colt was only just touched off in a valuable event at Beverley when making his debut before an eighth in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes and he was unlucky in running that day, denied a clear run at a crucial stage.
He sets a pretty clear standard on that level of form and there’s a decent chance that he will improve again for a step up to six furlongs for a yard that does particularly well with their two-year-olds.

16:55 Goodwood - Protest @ 5/1
The form of Protest’s fourth in a Listed race at Newbury last time out couldn’t be working out much better with the winner, Qilin Queen, landing a Group 2 at Longchamp in the interim, the runner-up going close in Listed company and the third also boosting the form with a Listed win.
That’s an effort worth marking up from Protest, who met a fair bit of trouble in running and she’s entirely unexposed here making just her fifth start.
The return to a mile may also help and there’s an argument to say that the filly should be the outright favourite for this contest.

17:30 Goodwood - Shallow @ 9/1
Richard Spencer has had more than his fair share of winners in the last fortnight and they include Shallow, who could be a tough nut to crack if she doesn’t find this run coming too quickly just 11 days after her Newmarket success.
She had shaped with plenty of promise on her penultimate run over seven furlongs, suggesting a return to six furlongs would suit and a 1lb rise for the subsequent success looks like some lenient handicapping from the assessor.
Her record at six furlongs this year reads 11231 and expect her to be firmly in the mix again with George Wood retaining the ride - the jockey who has been on board for each of the aforementioned three victories.
