Football Accumulator Tips - Saturday, February 22

  • Celtic to beat Hibs
  • Dundee United to beat Motherwell
  • Kilmarnock to beat Aberdeen
  • Partick Thistle to beat Airdrie

Overall odds - 13.61/1

Celtic to beat Hibs

We open with a bet on Celtic to banish their Champions League hangover with a battling win over Hibs at Easter Road in a duel you can follow live on Premier Sports 2 from 12:30. The Hoops drew 1-1 at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday, losing 2-1 to Bayern Munich to end their Champions League adventure.

Brendan Rodgers’ Bhoys are top of the Premiership, enjoy a long unbeaten run, and have won each of their previous three. Celtic have beaten Hibs three times already this season, collecting an aggregate score of 8-1. The 4/9 about an away win is too good to ignore.

Dundee United to beat Motherwell

The second leg of our acca is the first from the 15:00 starts, and we’re backing Dundee United to beat Motherwell at Tannadice. The home team starts fourth in the table but have lost each of their last three and five of six. Drastic improvement is required from Jim Goodwin and his men, but they appear to have the perfect opportunity to bag an overdue three points when playing a struggling Motherwell.

The Steelmen travel to the City of Discovery following four defeats, landing just one of the last 15 points available. It’s a meeting of two teams capable of much better, but home advantage should help push Dundee United over the line. Add the home team to your bets and hope they give their fans something to cheer at Tannadice.

Kilmarnock to beat Aberdeen

Our final pick of three from the Scottish Premiership sees us take a chance on Kilmarnock at Pittodrie. Aberdeen moved back up to third in the league following an overdue win last time, but the Dons have collected four of the last 18 points up for grabs after one win, a draw, and four defeats, including three on the bounce. We’re happy to oppose Jimmy Thelin’s team until they rediscover consistency.

Kilmarnock are the away team and sit four places beneath their opponents in the Premiership with seven fewer points on the board. But Killie are improving and have won their previous two starts in this competition, banking seven of the last dozen points on the line. The visitors beat Dundee United 1-0 and St Johnstone 3-1 already this month, and we’re hoping they’ll complete the treble.

Partick Thistle to beat Airdrie

We wrap things up with a bet in the Scottish Championship, trusting Partick Thistle to get the job done against bottom club Airdrie in Glasgow. The Jags start fourth in the table, occupying a promotion play-off place, but have Greenock Morton in fifth, breathing down their necks following a long unbeaten run. The home team can give themselves breathing space over the Ton but must score a first win in five games following three defeats and a draw.

Partick’s form means they are far from a banker, but they’re easier to trust when hosting an opponent that’s stuck hard to the bottom of the Championship, with their stats showing three wins, four draws, and 16 defeats, with 18 goals scored and 44 conceded. Airdrie have better recent form than Partick, winning seven of nine points, but we’re sticking with the Jags at Firhill Stadium on Saturday.

Overall odds - 13.61/1
