Newcastle United vs Fulham Prediction: Isak to steal the show again

Newcastle United welcome Fulham to St. James' Park on Saturday afternoon (15:00), hoping to get revenge against the Cottagers after losing in the reverse Premier League fixture between the sides back in September.

Marco Silva's side narrowly lost to Manchester United on Sunday, and will be looking to return to winning ways this weekend. Read on for my Newcastle United vs Fulham prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

The hosts will be without long-term absentee Jamaal Lascelles, as well as Anthony Gordon and Callum Wilson, while Miguel Almiron has completed a permanent switch to Atlanta United.

Nick Pope returned to the bench for Newcastle's win over Southampton, after missing 11 games with a knee injury, but Martin Dubravka may continue between the sticks.

As for Fulham, Harry Wilson is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after Silva confirmed he needs surgery on a stress fracture. He'll join Reiss Nelson and Kenny Tete in the treatment room.

Raul Jimenez is expected to lead the line, and was on target in the 3-1 win over Newcastle earlier in the season.

Newcastle are 4/6 favourites, giving them an implied win probability of 60%, while Fulham are 4/1 to do the double over the Magpies and the draw is currently priced up at 16/5.

Alexander Isak leads the anytime goalscorer market at 4/5, while Jimenez is shortest-priced for the visitors at 11/5.

Saturday's encounter at St. James' Park should be a pulsating one, as Newcastle are in scintillating form, winning seven of their last eight Premier League encounters.

The Magpies have been rampant in front of goal, and the three they scored against Southampton last week took their tally to 27 across their last 10 games.

Fulham are also enjoyed a steady campaign up until this point, and currently find themselves in 10th in the standings. Silva's side drew a blank in the 1-0 loss to United last Sunday - the first time they've failed to score in six games.

The Cottagers have conceded fewer goals on their travels than they have at home, but I don't think that they can contain a free-slowing Newcastle side for 90 minutes.

However, Fulham have scored in 10 consecutive away league games, and Newcastle's 4-1 home defeat to Bournemouth a fortnight ago shows that they can be exposed at the back.

I'm going for a home win, but I fancy Fulham to get on the scoresheet.

Alexander Isak to score anytime @ 4/5

Newcastle's number 14 would be a handful for any defence right now, and is arguably the best striker in Europe at this moment in time.

The Sweden international scored a brace last weekend, taking his league tally to 17 goals and 19 across all competitions.

Home comforts should benefit Isak here - he failed to score in the aforementioned 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth, but prior to that he netted in Newcastle's previous four games at St. James' Park.

The former Real Sociedad striker has 12 goals in his last 10 outings, and looks primed to further add to his tally here.
