Everton will look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they welcome Brentford to Goodison Park on Saturday (15:00). The Toffees have gone three matches without a victory, but they are unbeaten in their last three outings at home.

Brentford were 3-2 winners in their last encounter against AFC Bournemouth, but they have found life on the road difficult this term as they still seek their first away triumph. Read on for my Everton vs Brentford prediction, including the latest match odds and team news.

Everton vs Brentford Betting Tips

  • Both teams to score @ 4/6
  • Yoane Wissa anytime goalscorer @ 13/5

Everton vs Brentford Odds

Everton are 7/5 to win this match, giving them an implied probability of 41.7%. Brentford are priced at 2/1 to collect their first three points of the road, which gives them a theoretical chance of 33.3%. The draw is on offer at 12/5 (29.4%).

Both teams to score is available at 4/6 and over 2.5 goals can be backed at 5/6.

Bryan Mbeumo has scored eight goals in the top flight so far for Brentford, and he is 21/10 to score anytime on Merseyside. His teammate Yoane Wissa has seven for himself, and he is valued at 13/5 to find the back of the net in this contest.

Everton attacker Dwight McNeil has three goals in the Premier League and he is 16/5 to score anytime on Saturday.

Team News

Everton duo McNeil and Jarrad Branthwaite have returned to training this week after experiencing issues before the international break, with the latter having to withdraw from the England squad.

Striker Armando Broja is edging closer to being fit having missed the first few months of the season. He will add another dynamic to Sean Dyche's attacking options which will be most welcome to the Toffees boss.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains the first choice up top, but the Englishman hasn't experienced positive goal returns so far (two in 11 matches).

Youssef Chermiti is back in training but remains out of action for the time being. Midfield duo James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam are also in the treatment room, along with captain Seamus Coleman, who had to withdraw from the Republic of Ireland squad because of a hamstring issue.

For Brentford, there was some concern from fans as both Mbeumo and Wissa pulled out of international duty with Cameroon and DR Congo respectively due to injury, but both are not deemed to be serious and we should see them involved at the weekend.

Defender Ethan Pinnock pulled out of the Jamaica squad with a problem of his own, so he faces a race to be fit in time for the trip to Merseyside. Full-back Rico Henry is not too far away from returning to the squad after a lengthy spell on the sidelines, while Igor Thiago and Gustavo Nunes could also be in line to make their debuts in the coming weeks.

Both teams to score @ 4/6

As far as a result goes, I think this one is incredibly tough to call. Everton have gone through spells of good and bad form this term, while Brentford are still waiting for success away from home.

Neither of these two sides can be relied upon in this contest, so I think I'm going to play safe and back both teams to score at Goodison Park. Everton have seen three of their five clashes at home feature goals at both ends and there have only been two occasions in which they have been unable to find the back of the net here.

BTTS has been a much more frequent winner for the Bees this campaign, with 10 of their 11 clashes in the top flight seeing both teams get on the scoresheet. We have seen this land in four of their five matches on the road, and with two prolific goalscorers in Mbeumo and Wissa, I have no doubt that we will see them get on the scoresheet at Goodison.

Brentford will feel like this could be the game where their fortunes change, but Everton are proving to be quite stubborn on home soil at the moment, so I think it's best to avoid a result and go for goals at both ends instead.

Yoane Wissa anytime goalscorer @ 13/5

Mbeumo may be viewed as the main man for Brentford, but I think Wissa is just as important as his attacking partner, as his excellent start to the season shows. He has seven goals already, and what's more impressive is that he has only played in eight of the 11 matches so far.

Wissa is in outstanding form and he is averaging 1.11 goals per 90. The striker has four goals in his last three appearances in the top flight, with braces against Ipswich Town and Bournemouth in what was the Bees' last match before the international break.

He will be heading to Liverpool full of confidence, and I think his sharpshooting can continue against Everton. The Toffees' defence has been improving in recent weeks but they haven't had to face one of the best attacking duos in the division, and I think they will experience a lot of problems against Wissa and Mbeumo.

It's the former I'm putting my faith in to get on the scoresheet here, and I think 13/5 offers good value for that to happen.
