Brighton Racecourse

Aside from the razzmatazz of Royal Ascot in the afternoon, there are four more UK meetings taking place on Tuesday, including an evening offering from Brighton.

They go at the seaside venue from 18:30-21:00, with six races in all as ground conditions are forecast to be 'good to firm'. Here's some Brighton tips for you to mull over.

Brighton Tips

  • 18:30 - Say You'll Never @ 9/4
  • 20:00 - The Conqueror @ 4/1
  • 21:00 - Heer's Sadie @ 9/2

18:30 - Say You'll Never @ 9/4

Marco Botti's filly SAY YOU'LL NEVER is fancied to overturn last month's course and distance form with re-opposing winner Wrestling Revenue now.

They finished first and second here seven weeks ago, with Wrestling Revenue doing enough to repel the late challenge of the Oasis Dream filly.

That was, though, her first start on turf and a first taste of racing at this 5½ furlong trip and there is a good chance she can build on it now.

The winner has been well held in two starts since at Lingfield and Chepstow and is more exposed than Say You'll Never, who has posted a pair of solid efforts already in handicaps and should get a breakthrough before long.

20:00 - The Conqueror @ 4/1

Cases can be made for several contenders in the Download Our Official Racecourse App Raceday Ready Handicap over 1m4f, with three-time C&D winner Cloudy Rose and Largo Bay amongst them, but preference is for THE CONQUEROR.

The Jim Boyle-trained gelding is a course winner here over 1m2f this season and has finished in the money in three of his four starts this season, including when going down by a neck at Windsor earlier this month.

That was his first attempt over this sort of trip on turf and he was only foiled late on by a rival operating from a reduced mark.

7lb claimer Ethan Jones remains in the saddle here and has a good affiliation with this six-year-old, so they are fancied to go close again.

21:00 - Heer's Sadie @ 9/2

Brighton regular HEER'S SADIE should run her usual race here and be competitive for trainer Julia Feilden.

The mare has gained three of her four career wins on this turf over this trip. The most recent of those successes came just last month, with a one-length score over rival Adace.

Heer's Sadie was then third under a 5lb penalty eight days later and started this month off by finishing second behind Shaw's Park in an apprentice handicap here.

That was 11 days ago and given her liking for the track, she looks set for another big push at Brighton.
