Montenegro vs North Macedonia Prediction: Exciting encounter expected in Antalya

Two sides who put in valiant Euro 2024 qualifying efforts, albeit with no rewards, are set to clash in Turkey on Monday as Montenegro face off against North Macedonia in an international friendly in Turkey.  

Montenegro finished third in their qualifying group, just three points behind a very talented Serbia side in second, while North Macedonia managed a respectable eight points in a difficult section including England, Italy and Ukraine. They are two closely matched sides and it promises to be an intriguing affair in Antalya on Monday evening (17:00). New head coach Robert Prosinecki used Montenegro's match with Belarus to assess his squad and it would be no surprise to see him rotate heavily again.

On paper, Montenegro have the squad to really dominate proceedings in Antalya, with the likes of Jovetic, Marusic and Savic all proven European stars.  

However, their form in recent international breaks has been nothing to shout about, with only five wins from their last 15 outings, suggesting things may be closer than expected when they clash with North Macedonia on Monday.  

The designated away side have managed some solid results in their recent matches, most notably when taking a point off both England and Italy during their Euro 2024 qualification campaign.  

They have an impressive knack of scoring too, netting twice in their reverse fixture with Italy as well as bagging a couple against a talented Ukraine side during qualifying too.
