Bournemouth vs Brighton

Bournemouth welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon (14:00) in a mid-table clash.

The hosts moved above the Seagulls with a 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers last time out, while the visitors were thrashed by title-chasing Manchester City on Thursday night. Below you can find my Bournemouth vs Brighton prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Bournemouth vs Brighton Prediction

  • Bournemouth to win @ 23/20
  • #PickYourPunt - Dominic Solanke to score anytime and both teams to score - yes @ 7/5

Team News

The Cherries will be without the services of Ryan Fredericks, Tyler Adams, Chris Mepham, Romain Favre and Marcus Tavernier, while Luis Sinisterra was recently ruled out for the season.

Milos Kerkez will serve the first of a three-game suspension this weekend after being dismissed in Bournemouth's 1-0 win over Wolves in midweek.

As for the visitors, Pervis Estupinan and Evan Ferguson are expected to be absent for the remainder of the season, while Kaoru Mitoma, Billy Gilmour, Jack Hinshelwood, James Milner, Solly March and Tariq Lamptey are also unavailable.

Match Odds

Bournemouth are 23/20 - or a 46.5% chance - to make it back-to-back wins on Sunday, while Brighton are 9/5 and the draw can be backed at 5/2.

The Seagulls emerged as 3-1 winners in the reverse fixture back in September, and a repeat of that scoreline is available at 20/1.

Bournemouth to win @ 23/20

The Cherries snapped a three-game winless streak with their 1-0 win over Wolves last time out, putting in a solid defensive display. In fact, Bournemouth have won three of their past four games at the Vitality Stadium, and I believe they can continue that fine home form here against an out-of-sorts Brighton.

The Seagulls have fallen out of European contention, and are winless in their last five, and while excuses can be made for defeats to the title-challenging trio of Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City, the same excuses cannot be used to explain stalemates with 15th-placed Brentford and 19th-placed Burnley.

Roberto De Zerbi's side have won just once on the road in their last eight encounters, and only 17 of their 44 points this season have come away from home, so I'm envisioning a tough day out on the south coast for the Seagulls.

Bournemouth to win at 23-20

#PickYourPunt - Dominic Solanke to score anytime and both teams to score - yes @ 7/5

Bournemouth's talisman Dominic Solanke is enjoying his most prolific campaign to date, and must be licking his lips at the sight of going up against an out-of-form Brighton defence that have conceded eight goals in three games.

The former Chelsea and Liverpool striker has put himself firmly in contention for the coveted Golden Boot, scoring 18 goals so far this term. Home comforts could be key on Sunday, as three of Solanke's last four strikes have come at the Vitality Stadium.

I've paired that bet up with both teams to score - yes, as that selection has landed in six of the Cherries’ last eight matches and it was also a winning bet in the reverse fixture between the sides.

Solanke to score anytime and btts - yes at 7-5
