There is plenty of football action to enjoy on Tuesday evening, with matches taking place across the EFL Championship, League 1 and League 2, as well as two Champions League second leg quarter-final ties.

From the plethora of games on offer, we've put together a four-fold acca which pays out at 17/1.

Football Acca Tips - Tuesday, April 16

  • Southampton to beat Preston North End @ 4/11
  • Portsmouth to beat Barnsley @ 9/10
  • Barcelona to win and both teams to score @ 23/10
  • Borussia Dortmund to beat Atletico Madrid @ 6/5

Tuesday acca pays 17.8/1

Southampton to beat Preston North End @ 4/11

The Saints will look to claw themselves back into the conversation for promotion when they host Preston North End on Tuesday night at St. Mary's, live on Sky Sports Main Event.

Southampton secured a last-gasp victory over Watford on the weekend, whilst Preston were narrowly beaten at Deepdale by a resurgent Norwich City outfit.

Russell Martin's side are currently sat in fourth place in the Championship standings, six points behind Leeds in third and trail the top two of Ipswich and Leicester by eight and seven respectively. However, the Saints will be sensing a huge opportunity to close the gap here, as they have two games in-hand on Ipswich and Leeds, and one game in-hand on the Foxes.

In contrast, Preston have very little to play for in midtable, and the sides shared the spoils in the reverse fixture in October. However, knowing that a top-two finish is a realistic aim once more, Southampton should be fired up to take advantage of their promotion rivals stuttering over the weekend.

Portsmouth to beat Barnsley @ 9/10

Portsmouth can clinch the League 1 title with a home win over Barnsley on Tuesday and Pompey should be up to the task.

The home side have not lost in 16 matches since January, while the Tykes’ form has cooled off with only two wins in their last nine games.

A point would be enough to see the hosts secure promotion back to the Championship, but John Mousinho's side will want to put on a show in front of their own fans in their penultimate game at Fratton Park this season.

Barcelona to win and both teams to score @ 23/10

Barcelona edged a frantic first leg in their Champions League quarter-final tie with Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 at the Parc des Princes last Wednesday, and they can finish the job at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys Stadium, live on TNT Sports 1 (20:00).

The Spanish giants came from behind to claim a crucial first-leg advantage against Luis Enrique's men, and they followed that up with another victory over the weekend - a 1-0 triumph against Cadiz.

The first-leg win in Paris marked Barca's sixth on the spin across all competitions, and PSG are winless in their last two matches, having been held to a 1-1 draw by basement boys Clermont Foot in their previous league fixture.

I think the home advantage will be key for Barca here, and just like the first leg, I'm expecting goals at both ends.

Borussia Dortmund to beat Atletico Madrid @ 6/5

Sebastien Haller kept Dortmund's Champions League tie with Atletico Madrid alive with a dramatic 81st-minute strike, and Die Schwarzgelben can make home advantage count in the return fixture, live on TNT Sports 2 (20:00).

Edin Terzic's side found themselves 2-0 down after 32 minutes at the Wanda Metropolitano, but Haller's strike has offered a lifeline, and the German outfit will benefit from having the famous Yellow Wall behind them.

As for Atletico Madrid, their road form is questionable and I'm wary of backing them at Signal Iduna Park. Diego Simeone's side have won only one of their last seven away fixtures in all competitions, having lost four of those games.

That being said, the first leg showed there wasn't a great deal separating these sides, but I think home advantage will see Dortmund get over the line.
