The San Francisco 49ers will host the Dallas Cowboys in a Sunday Night Football (01:20 Monday morning UK time) thriller, as they bid to win their fifth-straight game.

The Cowboys thrashed the New England Patriots 38-3 in Week 4, and that 35-point blowout was the biggest loss of Bill Belichick’s career.

Two titans from decades past are once again among the Super Bowl favorites out of the NFC, and tempers may flare after playoff meetings in two consecutive seasons.

Cowboys vs 49ers Prediction

  • San Francisco 49ers (-3.5) @ 5/6
  • Brandon Aiyuk to have over 74.5 receiving yards @ 6/4

Team News

Running back Elijah Mitchell has been ruled out for the Niners against the Cowboys, which means Jordan Mason will likely serve as Christian McCaffrey’s backup.

Jon Feliciano, who had been in the concussion protocol this week, has been listed as questionable to play, while wide receiver Jauan Jennings, who was inactive against the Arizona Cardinals, has been cleared to play.

As for the Cowboys, Tyron Smith, Zack Martin, and Tyler Biadasz should all take the field against San Francisco, as should Micah Parsons.

Linebacker Damone Clark is questionable but should play, while Peyton Hendershot will be absent due to an ankle injury.

San Francisco 49ers (-3.5) @ 5/6

One of two undefeated teams left, San Francisco flexed their muscle once again in a win against the Cardinals team that just beat Dallas. Christian McCaffrey has emerged as an early MVP favorite as a result, and his four-touchdown day makes him arguably the most in-form player in the league.

A clash of great importance so early in the season can go to the 49ers, who have covered in their last nine games as a home favourite and I’m expecting them to do so again.

Dallas have been dumped from the playoffs by the Niners for each of the past two seasons and their frustrations may continue.

#PickYourPunt – Brandon Aiyuk over 74.5 receiving yards @ 6/4

Aiyuk is coming off a monster outing against Arizona last week, snagging all six passes his way for 148 yards — a week and a half after sitting out the Thursday game with the Giants due to a shoulder injury.

In the season opener against Pittsburgh, Aiyuk was excellent, recording eight grabs on eight targets for 129 yards and two touchdowns.

Purdy and the Niners’ passing game is by far the most dangerous Dallas has faced through four weeks of the season, in my opinion, and if Purdy can find Aiyuk, the wide receiver could have some joy against the Cowboys’ defense.
