Aberdeen beat Hibs
We open with a bet on Aberdeen to add another win to their impressive tally when hosting lowly Hibs at Pittodrie. The locals are performing well in the Premiership following last season’s seventh-place finish.
Manager Jimmy Thelin has the Dons fans believing again, and the team has already scored some crucial points, drawing with Celtic at Parkhead and beating Rangers at this venue. The hosts are good enough to see off a troubled Hibs and remain in the race for second place behind Celtic.
Hibs fans are struggling for reasons to smile this winter after watching their team slip into the relegation zone. A woeful run of results has the team from Edinburgh stuck at the wrong end of the table, and they’ve already lost to Celtic and Dundee in recent weeks. Hibs conceded three goals against The Hoops this month, which will encourage a hungry Aberdeen attack to get forward and create chances.
Rangers beat Dundee
Rangers play at Ibrox for the final time this year, and the Gers aim to sign off with a convincing win when Dundee arrive in Govan. Philippe Clement’s side are improving and battered Kilmarnock 6-0 here recently before drawing 1-1 with Tottenham in a thrilling match from the Europa League. If they are anywhere near their best, Rangers have the quality to win and put on a show.
Dundee arrive in Govan with high hopes of upsetting the odds following a welcome break. They’re holding their own in the Premiership so far but suffered a 3-0 loss here earlier in the season in the League Cup. Dundee also lost 2-0 at Tynecastle in their last league start, and we’re happy to add another home win to our bet to help boost returns.

St Mirren beat Ross County
Our final pick of three from the Scottish Premiership on Saturday sees us back St Mirren to win at Ross County. The Saints have their sights set on a top-six finish this season and are performing well. They suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Motherwell earlier this month, but we take heart from recent wins over Aberdeen and Hibs.
The stats suggest there will be little in this game, but we’re happy to take a chance on St Mirren at good odds, knowing their best should be enough to take the points back to Paisley.
We’re happy to oppose Ross County following a miserable run of form for the Staggies. They opened December with a 3-0 home defeat to Rangers in a match they never looked like winning. County also lost heavily at Celtic Park and Tannadice last month. St Mirren will be made to work for the win on Saturday, but confidence is low in the home dressing room and the visitors can take advantage.
Partick beat Airdrie
We wrap up our pre-Christmas accumulator by dropping to the Scottish Championship for a bet on Partick Thistle to beat Airdrie at the Excelsior Stadium. The home team are rooted to the bottom of the league after a miserable start to the season and look well out of their depth at this level. There’s still a lot of football to play, but Airdrie are already looking like a League One side in waiting. They conceded 29 goals in their first 15 games, scoring just six.
Patrick Thistle travel from Glasgow in the running for a top-four finish and a spot in the playoffs. Can Glasgow’s third team keep improving and force an extended season? If they are to finish in the prize places, they must beat the teams toiling at the wrong end of the division. The Jags impressed with recent wins over Ayr United, Hamilton, and Dunfermline. Patrick are good enough to win, and their opponents are easy to oppose.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
