Tennis Betting Tips: British picks of interest on opening day at SW19

Monday 29th June 2026, 8:40

It's that time of year again - Wimbledon starts on Monday, with the men's draw the most open it's been in years after Carlos Alcaraz's withdrawal, while Jannik Sinner hasn't been in action since his shock second-round exit at the French Open.

On the ladies' side of the tournament, all eyes will be on Serena Williams, who returns to SW19 for the first time since 2022 after entering this year's tournament as a wildcard. I've picked out my best tennis betting tips for day one of the Championships, which you can find below.

Tennis Betting Tips - 29 June 2026

  • Set Betting - Cameron Norrie 3-1 (vs Michael Zheng) @ 3/1
  • Price Boost - Daniil Medvedev 3-0 (vs Marin Cilic) @ 2/1 9/4
  • Set Betting - Harriet Dart 2-1 (vs Jelena Ostapenk0) @ 6/1

Set Betting - Cameron Norrie 3-1 (vs Michael Zheng) @ 3/1

It's fair to say Jack Draper is Great Britain's main hope for the men's singles tournament this year at SW19, but Cameron Norrie has had his fair share of success at Wimbledon.

The 30-year-old made the semi-finals in 2022 when he was beaten by Novak Djokovic, and he made the quarter-finals last year before running into Carlos Alcaraz. Norrie has had a poor season so far, withdrawing in the first round of the French Open due to injury but he has a habit of coming alive at the All England Club.

His opponent, Michael Zheng, is a promising young American, who is a former junior Wimbledon finalist. The 22-year-old came through qualifying to make it to this stage, but Norrie's experience on the big stage should count for something here.

Price Boost - Daniil Medvedev 3-0 (vs Marin Cilic) @ 2/1 9/4

This is one of the most eye-catching ties of the opening round as eighth seed Daniil Medvedev faces former finalist Marin Cilic.

Medvedev has the advantage when it comes to the head-to-head record (4-1), but the pair went to a deciding set when they met here five years ago, and there was very little to split them when they locked horns at the Libema Open just over a fortnight ago, in which Medvedev won in three sets.

I've opted to back a price boost which sees Medvedev win in straight sets, as Cilic isn't the player he was when he lost to Roger Federer in the final nine years ago.

Set Betting - Harriet Dart 2-1 (vs Jelena Ostapenk0) @ 6/1

My final pick is once again of British interest as Harriet Dart faces Jelena Ostapenko.

Now, Dart isn't in great form heading into this Slam - she's won just one of her last six matches, but she has the potential to make this a complicated tie for Ostapenko, and even potentially win in three sets.

Ostapenko had an impressive run at Eastbourne that ended last Friday due to injury, and if she isn't quite at 100%, there's potential for an upset.

Throw in the fact that Dart will be a home favourite here, and 6/1 doesn't look a bad price at all.
