Tennis Betting Tips: No rude awakenings for Casper

The action keeps on coming on the ATP and WTA Tours this week with tournaments taking place in Almaty, Antwerp and Stockholm for the men and in Ningbo and Osaka for the women.

There is plenty of British interest across the tournaments, with Dan Evans, Katie Boulter and Harriet Dart among the players in action on Wednesday, and we have picked out our three best tennis tips from across the day's play.

Katerina Siniakova to beat Daria Kasatkina @ 6/5

Neither of these players are in the best of form, but while Czech ace Siniakova comprehensively beat former top-20 player Magda Linette in her opening match at the Ningbo Open, fifth-seed Kasatkina was not involved, receiving a bye into the last 16.

It has been a tough second half of the season for Kasatkina, who aside from reaching the final of last month's Korea Open, has failed to win more than one match at any tournament since Wimbledon.

Siniakova's form is not much better, but she will be buoyed by her victory over Linette, as well as the decent showing she produced when going down to eventual champion Aryna Sabalenka at last week's Wuhan Open.

Having also won the last time these two players faced off at the 2022 European Open, Siniakova will be confident of causing a mini-upset against the world number 11.

Brandon Nakashima to beat Stan Wawrinka in three sets @ 13/5

Brandon Nakashima will be keen to bounce back from his early exit at the Shanghai Masters when he faces the evergreen Stan Wawrinka in the opening round of the Stockholm Open.

Nakashima went out in straight sets to Yosuke Watanuki in Shanghai, but after reaching the fourth round of the US Open and the semi-finals of the Hangzhou Open over recent months, he should prove too strong for 39-year-old Wawrinka.

Wawrinka, a three-time Grand Slam winner, is in the twilight of his career and has won only six matches on the ATP Tour in 2024.

However, he has won both of his previous meetings with Nakashima and after pushing Flavio Cobolli to three sets in Shanghai last time out, he could cause problems for his opponent on Wednesday. However, with youth on his side, Nakashima should still edge through.

Casper Ruud to beat Lorenzo Sonego in three sets @ 11/4

Casper Ruud's last main-Tour victory came in the third round of the US Open, but he will expect to return to winning ways against another player struggling for form, Lorenzo Sonego, when they meet in the last 16 of the Stockholm Open.

Ruud is a clay-court specialist but also has credentials on the hard surface, highlighted by his run to the US Open final in 2022, but recent early exits in Shanghai and Tokyo mean he may have to dig deep to overcome Sonego.

Sonego lifted his fourth ATP Tour title - and third on hard courts - at the Winston-Salem Open in August, but he failed to win a match at his four tournaments following that success, snapping his losing streak only when he beat Marc-Andrea Husler in the first round of this event.

The good news for Sonego is he has taken sets off Tommy Paul and Adrian Mannarino during his recent struggles and he can repeat that trick against Ruud, but the Norwegian should just about have enough to advance into the quarter-finals.
