Tennis Betting Tips: Alcaraz’s steady progress to continue

Day 10 of the French Open heralds the start of the quarter-final stage in both the men's and women's draws, and men's favourite Carlos Alcaraz is the star attraction as he meets Tommy Paul for a place in Friday's semi-final.
Lorenzo Musetti and Frances Tiafoe also face off, while women's top seed Aryna Sabalenka meets Qinwen Zheng. Iga Swiatek and Elina Svitolina round up the Tuesday quarter-final line-up. Below you can find my Tennis Betting Tips for Tuesday, June 3.

Carlos Alcaraz to win 3-1 v Tommy Paul (French Open) @ 12/5
Carlos Alcaraz has not quite kicked into top gear at the French Open, requiring four sets to win each of his last three matches, and it could pay to back the same outcome when he takes on Tommy Paul.
There's no doubt that Alcaraz is the man to beat in the bottom half of the men's draw, but he has been workmanlike at times and, in Paul, he faces an opponent who has beaten him twice, albeit on hard courts.
Alcaraz's clay-court pedigree should tilt this one in his favour, and he's shown glimpses of his trademark brilliance in Paris, but Paul is a dogged competitor, who has scrapped his way into the last eight despite battling a niggling abdominal injury.
The underdog can demonstrate his fighting spirit by winning a set in defeat, although he's spent more than 12 hours on court and, over the best-of-five-set format, it's hard to see him getting the better of Alcaraz.

Over 35.5 games in Lorenzo Musetti v Frances Tiafoe (French Open) @ 4/5
Lorenzo Musetti continues to impress on the clay, following runs to the final in Monte Carlo and the semi-finals in Madrid and Rome with a French Open quarter-final appearance, and he's a worthy favourite for this clash with Frances Tiafoe.
Big Foe leads the head-to-head 4-3 at all levels, and 3-2 at ATP Tour level, but Musetti looks an improved performer, as his current career-high ranking of seventh in the world suggests.
But, like Alcaraz, he's had to do it the hard way, dropping sets against Mariano Navone and Holger Rune in his last two matches, and Tiafoe is unlikely to go down easily having played and won all 12 sets in Paris.
The smart play looks to be backing the over in total games. All three previous clay meetings went to a deciding set (all best of three), so a long match could be on the cards.

Aryna Sabalenka to win 2-0 v Qinwen Zheng (French Open) @ 5/6
WTA Tour No.1 Aryna Sabalenka is closing in on a first French Open title and she should advance to the semi-finals - and a potential clash with Iga Swiatek - with a straight-sets win over Qinwen Zheng.
Zheng has a real affinity for Paris, winning the Olympic singles title on these courts last year, while she won her most recent clash with Sabalenka in Rome last month.
She merits respect, but Sabalenka has dominated their Grand Slam meetings, winning all three of them without dropping a set, and she looked in awesome form in her round of 16 dismissal of Amanda Anisimova, who failed to win a set despite playing really well.
