Tennis Betting Tips: Best bets from across Tuesday’s action

It wasn't the best start to the week on Monday as only one of my three Tennis Betting Tips landed. There's more action to come on Tuesday and I am determined to deliver greater success this time around.

Match Betting - Arthur Rinderknech to beat Francesco Passaro @ 1/1

Day two at Gstaad sees Arhur Rinderknech tussle with Francesco Passaro. This is just the second meeting between the two players and Passaro will hold the psychological advantage on Tuesday having won that first encounter in Rome last year.

Rinderknech has been in good form of late, however, so he will pose a much bigger threat to his opponent. The Frenchman grabbed headlines at Wimbledon after he defeated Alexander Zverev in the first round before making his way into the round of 32 at the All England Lawn Club.

This followed a string of solid performances at Queen's, where he reached the quarter-finals. A return to clay is not ideal considering it is not his strongest surface, but I think recent performances will provide him with the confidence he needs to defeat Passaro.

The Italian has had consistency issues in 2025, which could play into Rinderknech's hands, but he looked sharp in qualifying for this event. He can cause problems for Rinderknech but I do feel the French star will rise to the challenge.

Set Betting - Roberto Carballas Baena to beat Carlos Taberner 2-0 @ 9/5

Roberto Carballes Baena will be hoping to make up for the time he lost earlier in the year during the clay-court season. The Spaniard was injured for much of that period before Roland Garros which was a crushing blow as this is his preferred surface.

Both his ATP titles have come on clay (Quito 2018 and Marrakech 2023) and it is clear this is where he is most comfortable when out on the court. His meeting with Carlos Taberner on Tuesday will be the second of their career, with Carballes Baena prevailing in Santiago back in 2023.

Taberner retired in the second set and he will be hoping to show his opponent just how much he has grown since that match. He also plays his best tennis on clay, demonstrated by winning a Challenger Tour title on the surface in June.

However, his best cannot match the level of Carballas Baena, who I am expecting to prevail in straight sets.

Match Betting - Alexander Shevchenko to beat Stan Wawrinka @ 11/10

It appears to be the perfect day for second career meetings as the contest between Alexander Shevchenko and Stan Wawrinka also follows this trend. The two last played each other in Basel two years ago, with Shevchenko prevailing in straight sets.

The Kazakh star should be feeling confident of facing the veteran Wawrinka again because the latter has only competed at clay-court events since late March, with most of them coming on the Challenger Tour.

The former French Open champion's results have been mixed, but he did impress in Iasi last week as he made it to the semi-finals. This will have given him a boost heading into Gstaad. Question marks surrounding his consistency remain, though, and it will be interesting to see how the 40-year-old is able to move around after playing four matches last week.

Shevchenko is 16 years his junior and he'll be able to move a lot easier around the court, and for that reason, I think he will take the victory.
