It's taken more than four months, but we finally have our first 'Sincaraz' showdown of 2026 this Sunday as Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz face off in the final of the 2026 Monte-Carlo Masters.
The match features in my Sunday Tennis Betting Tips, which you can check out below...

Defending Monte-Carlo Masters champion Alcaraz has won three of his four matches this year in straight sets, surviving a slight scare against Tomas Martin Etcheverry (6-1, 4-6, 6-3) in the round of 16.
Sinner, meanwhile, was also pushed to a deciding set in the round of 16 against Tomas Machac (6-1, 6-7, 6-3), and like his Spanish counterpart, won the rest of his contests in straight sets.
The Italian is much more at home on hard courts, highlighted by the fact his sole ATP title on clay came in Umag, Croatia in 2022, and that 6-7, 6-1, 6-1 victory over Alcaraz in the final remains his only win against him on this surface.
Alcaraz has won the other four meetings on the dirt, triumphing twice in finals last year, firstly in Rome (7-6, 6-1), and secondly in one of the all-time matches at Roland-Garros (4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 7-6).
The World No. 1, who is seeking to keep hold of that status, with Sinner able to leapfrog him with a win on Sunday, has won 26 ATP titles, the same number as his great rival, but 11 of those have come on clay, so it's clear to see who is more at home on this surface.
The second-set scare against Machac aside, Sinner has looked supreme in Monaco, though, and is likely to offer fierce resistance on Sunday, particularly with World No. 1 up for grabs.
Alcaraz made light work of Sinner in Rome last year, but their most recent meeting on the dirt was a five-set thriller in Paris, where the Italian won the first couple of sets.
Three sets on Sunday is a real possibility in my eyes, and even if the match is decided in a couple, I expect them to both be really competitive.
Ultimately, though, it's Alcaraz who I expect to come up trumps.
