Team News

Starting with the hosts, Wales go with Rhys Carre, skipper Dewi Lake and Keiron Assiratti in the front row, with locks Dafydd Jenkins and Adam Beard in the engine room. Alex Mann, Jac Morgan and Aaron Wainwright complete the back row, while Tomos Williams and Dan Edwards start in the half-backs. Ben Thomas and Max Llewellyn pair up in the centres, while Wales go with a back three of Josh Adams, Tom Rogers and Blair Murray.

As for Argentina, Mayco Vivas, skipper Julian Montoya and Pedro Delgado will start in the front row, with the second row consisting of Guido Petti and Marcos Kremer.

Pablo Matera, Juan Martín Gonzalez and Joaquin Oviedo complete the pack, with Simon Benitez Cruz and Geronimo Prisciantelli starting in the half-backs.

The Pumas go with Santiago Chocobares and Justo Piccardo in the centres, while the tourists have a dangerous back three of Mateo Carreras, Bautista Delguy and Santiago Carreras.

Wales vs Argentina Odds

Wales are the 13/5 underdogs for Sunday’s showdown, while Argentina are 3/10 favourites to come out on top.

A draw in Cardiff is 22/1, while the Pumas to be leading at both the half-time and full-time whistles is 8/13.

Argentina -10 handicap @ 1/1

Sunday’s Test match in the Welsh capital is likely to reveal the size of the challenge Tandy faces to get Wales back to a side capable of reaching the World Cup semi-finals and being competitive in the Six Nations once again.

Wales were on an 18-match losing streak before a 31-22 win over Japan in their last game in July.

It was against Argentina in the 2023 World Cup when that extensive losing run began, and the Pumas look capable of landing another victory against the Welsh this weekend.

The South Americans are battle-hardened after their 2025 Rugby Championship endeavours, where they did manage to secure scalps against New Zealand and Australia.

Tandy won’t be able to work miracles overnight, and Argentina are good value for the win and to give up a 10-point head start on the handicap this weekend.

Wales vs Argentina - Handicap +10

Bautista Delguy anytime tryscorer @ 13/10

Argentina have pace to burn in the back three, and winger Bautista Delguy is well priced to continue his strong tryscoring form for his country on Sunday.

The Clermont Auvergne flyer was the Pumas’ leading tryscorer in the Rugby Championship this year with three, and the 28-year-old is backed to add to his growing Test try collection in Cardiff.
