Saracens' now annual 'Showdown' fixture with Harlequins at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is fast becoming a highlight of the spring, but selection decisions have taken some of the stardust off Saturday's London derby.

Sarries start round 12 fifth in the table, a place and two points clear of Quins but a win for either could elevate them into the top four. Read on for my Saracens vs Harlequins prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

After a long lay-off - the last round of Premiership games took place on the penultimate weekend in January - both will be aiming to hit the ground running as they target the play-off spots and potential European glory.

A derby win would delight these clubs but the absence of some of Quins' big hitters means it could be a familiar story in N17.

Team News

Saracens Director of Rugby Mark McCall has named a star-studded team captained by Maro Itoje and featuring fellow England internationals Jamie George, Tom Willis and Elliot Daly.

Ivan van Zyl and Fergus Burke are the half-backs, while back-rower Andy Onyeama-Christie is set to make his first competitive appearance of 2025 from the bench.

While Sarries have selected their England stars, Harlequins have placed Marcus Smith, Chandler Cunningham-South and Fin Baxter on mandatory rest following the Six Nations.

Alex Dombrandt will captain the team from number eight, with Jarrod Evans steering the side from fly-half in Smith's absence.

Saracens vs Harlequins Odds

Saracens are 2/9 to win on Saturday, with the draw 25/1 and Harlequins 100/30.

The three-way handicap is set at 11 points, with Quins 10/11 given a +11 start.

Saracens -16 @ 6/4

Harlequins produced a monumental defensive effort to end their run of eight straight defeats to Saracens when they triumphed 17-10 at The Stoop in October.

The duo have since met twice in the Premiership Rugby Cup, Sarries winning both, but it is tough to read too much into those results due to the plethora of selection changes made by clubs for that competition.

While they waved goodbye to some of their icons last summer, Saracens retain a steel that suggests they will be ready to bulldoze through their London rivals, especially with Cunningham-South and Baxter unavailable.

By contrast, Quins still have a reputation for failing to front up when it matters and Maro Itoje and his pack will be looking to produce another big performance, as they did in last season's 52-7 victory in this fixture.

There's also added motivation for Sarries, with Saturday set to be flanker Onyeama-Christie's first Premiership appearance since being stretchered off at The Stoop with what could have been a career-ending ankle injury.

The Scotland back-row missed the Six Nations but made his return in last weekend's 54-45 friendly win over Edinburgh.

A fearless flanker who is a coach's dream due to his ability to excel in all facets of back-row play, he can provide a late impact off the bench in what could be another big derby victory for McCall's team.
