Team News

Starting with the Sharks, the hosts have Asher Opoku-Fordjour, Alfie Longstaff and James Harper in the front row, with locks Ernst van Rhyn and Ben Bamber in the second row.

Jacques Vermeulen, Sam Dugdale and Tom Curry complete the pack, with the duo of Raffi Quirke and George Ford in the half-backs.

Rekeiti Ma'asi-White and Luke James start in the centres, while Sale have gone with a back three of Tom O’Flaherty, Tom Roebuck and Joe Carpenter.

As for the Tigers, Leicester have a front row of Nicky Smith, Jamie Blamire and Joe Heyes, with George Martin and skipper Ollie Chessum in the engine room.

Hanro Liebenberg, Tommy Reffell and Joaquin Moro form the back row, with Jack van Poortvliet and James O’Connor combining in the half-backs once again.

Orlando Bailey and Will Wand start in the centres, with Ollie Hassell-Collins, Adam Radwan and Freddie Steward in the back three for the visitors.

Sale vs Leicester Tigers Odds

Sale Sharks are the 19/10 underdogs for the win on Sunday, while Leicester are 4/9 to head back to the East Midlands with the victory. A draw at CorpAcq Stadium is currently available at 18/1.

Leicester Tigers -8 handicap @ 21/20

For those who thought the battle for the Gallagher Prem title was a straight shootout between Northampton and Bath, Leicester certainly put their hand up with their emphatic 41-17 win over the Saints at Welford Road last weekend.

Combative, strong in defence and clinical in attack, the Tigers put in a statement win in the East Midlands derby and now they head to CorpAcq to face a Sharks side who suffered a 21-15 defeat at strugglers Gloucester last time out.

With six defeats in their last seven Prem games, Sale are in woeful form and pressure is building on the Sharks' director of rugby, Alex Sanderson.

Given how Sale have been performing in recent months in the Prem and how ruthless Leicester were against Northampton last time out, the Tigers are backed to cover the handicap here.

Expect Van Poortvliet and O'Connor to continue their impressive form in the half-backs, while also keeping an eye out for Radwan in the wide channels, with the Leicester winger scoring three tries in his last three appearances for Geoff Parling's side.
