There are two West Country derbies to look forward to on Saturday afternoon (15:00 BST, TNT Sports Extra) in the Gallagher Prem, and one of those comes from Sandy Park, as Exeter Chiefs host Gloucester.

Below are my Exeter Chiefs vs Gloucester predictions, as well as all the essential team news and match odds for the showdown in Devon.

Team News

Starting with the Chiefs, the hosts go with a front row of Scott Sio, Joseph Dweba and Josh Iosefa-Scott, while skipper Dafydd Jenkins and Rusi Tuima start in the second row.

The Exeter pack is completed with Tom Hooper, Ethan Roots and Greg Fisilau, while Stephen Varney and Harvey Skinner combine again in the half-backs.

Exeter are 1/9 favourites for the win, while Gloucester are 11/2 underdogs to leave Devon with the spoils on Saturday.

A draw at Sandy Park is available at 28/1, while Exeter to be leading at the half-time and full-time whistles is currently 4/9.

Having put in an impressive performance to dominate Harlequins 38-0 last time out, Exeter will go into Saturday’s clash with rivals Gloucester full of confidence.

The same can’t be said for the Cherry & Whites, who are still chasing their first win of the Gallagher Prem campaign.

Losing 49-34 at home to Bristol Bears last week, another tough West Country derby is in store for Gloucester with this trip to Sandy Park.

The Chiefs have won seven of their last eight home games against Gloucester in all competitions, and they should be able to overcome the Cherry & Whites again.

Conceding 151 points in their opening four games of the season, Gloucester’s defensive frailties have been exposed on too many occasions.

With the joint-top Prem tryscorer this season, Feyi-Waboso, in their ranks, Exeter have the weapons in their backline to exploit Gloucester’s defensive weaknesses and the Chiefs are good value to cover the handicap this weekend at Sandy Park.
