Sale vs Toulon Betting Tips

  • Toulon to win @ 7/4
  • Jiuta Wainiqolo anytime tryscorer @ 6/4

Team News

Sale have gone with Bevan Rodd, Luke Cowan-Dickie and Asher Opoku-Fordjour, with JL du Preez and Jonny Hill in the engine room.

Tom Curry, skipper Ben Curry and Dan du Preez make up the back row, with fly-half George Ford returning to partner Raffi Quirke in the half-backs.

Rob du Preez and Rekeiti Ma’asi-White start in the centres, while it’s Tom O’Flaherty, Tom Roebuck and Joe Carpenter in the back three.

As for Toulon, they go with Jean-Baptiste Gros, Gianmarco Lucchesi and Emerick Setiano in the front row, with locks Matthias Halagahu and Swan Rebbadj in behind.

The back row consists of Lewis Ludlam, Selevasio Tolofua and Jules Coulon, with Ben White and Dan Biggar in the half-backs.

Jeremy Sinzelle and Antoine Frisch partner up in centres, while Gabin Villiere, Jiuta Wainiqolo and Rayan Rebbadj form the back three.

Sale vs Toulon Odds

Sale Sharks are the 1/2 favourites to land the win in Greater Manchester, while Toulon are 7/4 to head back across the Channel with the victory.

A draw is available at 18/1, while Toulon to be leading at the half-time and full-time whistle is a 13/5 chance.

Toulon to win @ 7/4

Winning eight of their last nine games in all competitions, Toulon are in great form heading into Sunday’s showdown at the Salford Community Stadium.

They have lost only to a strong Bordeaux Begles side on the road in that nine-game spell, Toulon showing they can do the business away as well as at the Stade Mayol.

Sale will be boosted by the return of England fly-half George Ford but Toulon have two experienced operators in White and Biggar in the half-backs, who can both get the visitors playing in the right areas of the field.

The Sharks are currently on a two-game losing streak after a 36-20 defeat at Gloucester and a 40-0 drubbing away to the Stormers.

Sale will be confident of bouncing back on their own patch in Greater Manchester but an in-form Toulon side are well priced to claim the win.

Jiuta Wainiqolo anytime tryscorer @ 6/4

Having scored in a 33-21 win over Harlequins in the Champions Cup last time out, Fijian winger Wainiqolo is well priced in the anytime tryscorer market to go over for Toulon again this weekend.

That tryscoring performance against English opposition will have given him some confidence, and Wainiqolo has the pace and power to cause Sale problems in the wide channels. He can add to his try tally for the season on Sunday.
