Team News
Argentina have confirmed Bautista Bernasconi has been ruled out of Saturday’s Test due to injury.
Boris Wenger is now available for selection, while Leonel Oviedo has joined up with the Argentina squad as a development player.
As for New Zealand, Patrick Tuipulotu has also been ruled out for Saturday’s game in the Argentinian capital after suffering a minor facial fracture last time out.
Tuipulotu will require surgery and heads back to New Zealand, while he will be joined on the same plane by centre Anton Lienert-Brown, who is unavailable for the weekend as he goes through concussion protocols after a head knock in Cordoba.
New Zealand are the 2/9 favourites for the victory, while Argentina find themselves as the 18/5 underdogs going into Saturday’s showdown.
A draw is available at 20/1, while Argentina to be leading at the half-time whistle is currently 2/1.
New Zealand -13 @ 11/10
Having seen South Africa claim the Rugby Championship crown last season, New Zealand are going all out to get their hands back on the trophy.
The All Blacks started their campaign with an impressive 41-24 victory against Argentina last weekend at the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes in Cordoba.
Winger Sevu Reece bagged himself a first-half brace as the Kiwis stormed into a 31-10 lead at the break.
While Los Pumas did battle their way back with second-half tries from fly-half Tomas Albornoz and number eight Joaquin Oviedo, New Zealand never looked like relinquishing the lead in Cordoba.
All Blacks head coach Scott Robertson will have been pleased with the result last weekend but he and his side will be striving for a more complete 80 minutes in Buenos Aires.
With the strength in depth at their disposal, New Zealand will have ample cover for the likes of Tuipulotu and Lienert-Brown.
Beauden Barrett impressed at fly-half last week but Chiefs’ star Damian McKenzie might be given a starting role this weekend.
Capable of setting off attacks from anywhere on the field, McKenzie offers slightly more attacking threat with ball in hand and could be used from the start.
Scoring 40 or more points in all of their last three away games against Argentina, the All Blacks are well priced at 11/10 to over the -13 handicap again in Buenos Aires.
