Gold Coast Titans vs Parramatta Eels Predictions: Titans to punish hapless Eels

The Gold Coast Titans will look to make it three straight NRL wins when they host the Parramatta Eels at the Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday. The Titans are now four points ahead of the Eels, but both teams remain at the wrong end of the table. 

Gold Coast are 15th after just five wins from their 15 matches, but they have played one game fewer than some of their rivals, while only the Wests Tigers have a worse record than the Eels. Saturday's encounter (kick-off 08:30 BST, live on Sky Sports Arena), gives the Titans a great chance to build some momentum, as they look to build on some impressive recent performances.

With Gold Coast starting to show some signs of improvement, they are 4/9 favourites for Saturday's tie on home soil. The draw is available at 22/1, while Parramatta are priced at 19/10 to pick up a rare victory. 

The handicap line has been set at -8, with the Titans 1/1 to cover the line, while the Eels are 20/21 to cover the spread.

Parramatta star Mitchell Moses will play no part in Saturday's tie due to New South Wales commitments ahead of the final State of Origin game, while Titans ace Moeaki Fotuaika is set to play for Queensland. 

However, David Fifita will be available for the Titans, having been overlooked by Maroons boss Billy Slater. 

Moses will be replaced by Daejarn Asi, while Lorenzo Mulitalo will make his NRL debut on the wing. Junior Paulo misses out with a foot injury, meaning Luca Moretti joins the bench. 

Titans ace Jayden Campbell returns from a hand injury to feature in the halves, while AJ Brimson has been named as the 18th man as he makes his way back from a groin injury. 

Josiah Pahulu replaces Fotuaika, while Klese Haas returns to the back row after overcoming a foot injury. Phil Sami is named on the bench after recovering from a calf strain.

The Eels have lost their last four games in a row and interim coach Trent Barrett has yet to find the winning formula since he stepped in for Brad Arthur. 

Arthur's sacking in May has not given the Eels the spark they wanted and it is likely that they will struggle for the rest of the season due to the recent upheavals. 

Des Hasler's Titans beat the New Zealand Warriors 66-6 last month, before a narrow 20-16 victory over the Cronulla Sharks last time out. 

Only two of Gold Coast's five wins have come at home, but they face an Eels side who have won just one of their last 10, so expect the hosts to start quickly.

Moses is arguably the Eels' best player, but his commitments to the NSW team means he will watch on from afar this week. 

Without their playmaker, the Eels should struggle to keep the Titans at bay. They have conceded at least 28 points in their last three matches, while they have only scored more than 30 points once this season.  

Once Origin is over, the Eels may kick on with Moses back at the helm, but this fixture looks like it is the Titans' to lose.
